Tomorrow, our Alaska adventure officially begins! 🏔️🛳️

Over the next week, we’ll be sailing Alaska with Disney Cruise Line, and while we are incredibly excited for the vacation, trips like this are also an important part of what we do at Blue Sky Adventures.

There is only so much we can learn from websites, training and brochures. Experiencing the ships, ports, destinations, transportation and excursions firsthand gives us knowledge we can bring home and use when helping our clients plan their own adventures.

While we’re away, we really are going to allow ourselves to be away. 😊 We’ll be checking in periodically and, of course, taking care of anything urgent for clients who are currently traveling, but our response times will be slower than usual.

We plan to soak it all in, take way too many pictures, learn everything we can and share plenty with you along the way!

We’re incredibly grateful that Blue Sky Adventures has given us the opportunity to see so much of the world and, even better, help so many of you experience it too. 💙

We found a hidden gem of a beach club in Cozumel. After our port stop was rescheduled, all the typical beach clubs were sold out and we thought our beach day was just not going to happen. Then we found Margarita Beach Club. This place was perfect! The service was excellent and attentive. The beach is a beautiful little quiet stretch with powdery sand and not rocky like some areas of Cozumel. And the food and drinks were fantastic! We will definitely be back. We love stopping in Roatan, Honduras. It’s one of our favorite ports stop because of how friendly the locals are and also because of the fun and unique sloth and monkey experiences. But yesterday we ventured out and decided to do zip lining. We had so much fun!!!! 10/10 recommend this! Even if you’re a chicken like me. Do it. You won’t regret it.

Let's talk about the not so glamorous side of travel. Sometimes life doesn't know you're supposed to be on vacation and enjoying some much needed time off and new experiences. We are currently sailing the Regal Princess. Today was supposed to be a fun day at the beach in Cozumel but is instead an unexpected day at sea. Sadly, we were woken up this morning to the news that a crew member is missing. They are conducting search and rescue efforts but they have reason to believe the person jumped overboard. That was around 5:30 am. It's been 5 hours and no luck, despite an immediately response of our crew and the help of nearby Carnival Jubilee and the Mexico Coast Guard authorities. While it's sad that our trip is interrupted, it's much sadder that someone got to such a low point that they felt this was the only way out. If that's you, please talk to someone and get the help you need. And if you ever find yourself in this position on your much anticipated vacation, try to be kind and remember, the staff are people too. The Princess staff that is pivoting to making today a sea day full of activities and trying to keep the atmosphere update are doing an amazing job, despite such challenging circumstances.

Beach resort or cruise?

This is always a fun one because both can be amazing, but they are such different types of trips.

A beach resort is perfect when you want to unpack once, relax, enjoy the beach, and just settle into vacation mode.

A cruise is great when you want to see different places, have entertainment close by, and always have something going on.

I honestly like both, it just depends on the type of trip we are looking for.
