One thing that surprised me about my Viking river cruise through Bordeaux, France? 🛳️🇫🇷
How little scenic sailing we actually did.
On other European river cruises I’ve experienced, some of my favorite moments have been sitting up on deck watching villages, vineyards and countryside go by.
Bordeaux felt different.
And there’s a reason. 👀
Bordeaux sits on a tidal river, and this itinerary stays relatively close to the city throughout the week.
The tradeoff? That tidal river also means you don’t have the same low water concerns that can affect some other European rivers during the summer.
That’s why I keep saying the itinerary matters just as much as the river cruise line.
If you love w**e, want to really dive into the Bordeaux region and prefer a slower pace, this itinerary could be a great fit.
