Excited to share the new updates at Cottar’s 1920s Camp!

The 4 double tents have been completely redesigned and are now 40% larger and have sweeping views of the savannah.

This camp now comprises of 11 luxury tents in total: five luxury double tents, two romantic honeymoon tents and four open-plan family tented suites, all with ensuite bathrooms, living rooms with cosy fireplaces and plenty of space and privacy.

In honor of my birthday weekend, I'm posting one of my most favorite African animals that you may see while on safari.

This is the African Wild Dog or "painted wolf".

According to the World Wildlife Foundation, the wild dog is one of the world’s most endangered mammals. The largest populations remain in southern Africa and the southern part of East Africa (especially Tanzania and northern Mozambique).

Wild dogs are social and gather in packs of around ten individuals, but some packs number more than 40. They are opportunistic predators that hunt medium-sized ruminants, such as gazelles. In a sprint, African wild dogs can reach speeds of more than 44 miles per hour.

While these are not my pictures, I did have the opportunity to finally see a pack of wild dog while we were on a game drive in Sabi Sabi last year. It was the most incredible thing and I cried the whole time. :)

Le Quartier Francais sits on the famous Huguenot Street in the lovely town of Franschhoek. This property is steps away from many shops, restaurants and vineyards.

I love to include this charming property in my itineraries as it feels like you are secluded, yet are actually just steps from all of the fun!

I finally got to check out this stunning property and it was even better than I already knew it was.
