PSA: When booking a charter to crab island be mindful of these so called “captain” operators!!!!

A Captain is a US Coast Guard certified captain that has been through school and seat time to be able to run a safe and fun charter for guest…..

An “Operator” these other charters are providing are not real Captains. An operator can be anyone with a driver licenses with minimum experience and capabilities if an emergency were to arise while on a charter.

If you are looking to book a charter to crab island and the charter company offers to carry more than 6 passengers they must have a COI boat (Coast Guard Inspected Vessel) not a regular pontoon anyone can buy from a boat dealership.

Be sure to ask to see their credentials before booking !!!

Crab Island Destination Tours, LLC offers both a legit 6 passenger slide boat with a licensed captain.

And a COI boat called the Hangout II that can accommodate up to 16 passengers legally. Family owned and captained.
