Fun day trip

Thinking about things to do, things to visit this summer? Here's a fun one! One of the great things about living/visiting in Augusta is that we 1 hour from the ocean and one hour from the mountains!

Maine’s Haunted Lighthouses Road Trip takes you to five of the state’s eeriest lights…all of which are said to be haunted! At Pemaquid Point, a ghostly woman in a red shawl is said to wander the keeper’s house. Marshall Point is haunted by a child spirit seen on the road nearby. Owl’s Head Light is infamous for its phantom keeper, often spotted climbing the tower. Portland Head Light echoes with unexplained sounds and fleeting shadows. At Hendricks Head, the “Lady Ghost of the Dusk” reportedly appears near the rocks at twilight. There are a number of offshore Maine lights said to be haunted as well, but all five of these can be reached via your car and are both scenic and eerie…coming with the added benefit of incredible coastal views along the way!
