Keep Your Tires in Top Shape 🚐🛑
When it comes to long-term RV storage, tire care is just as important as engine prep. Improper storage can lead to flat spots, sidewall damage, or even premature failure. Follow these key steps for off-season protection:
Tire Storage Best Practices:
Clean tires thoroughly—do not apply dressings
Inflate to maximum cold inflation pressure before storing
Place a barrier (cardboard, plywood, rubber mats, or plastic) between the tire and the ground
Store indoors in a cool, dry, sealed environment—away from electrical generators
If stored outdoors, always use tire covers for UV protection
Check tire pressure and adjust when removing from storage
These steps help maintain sidewall integrity, prevent flat spotting, and ensure a safer return to the road.
