I'm taking a little break from sharing our beautiful Smoky Mountains today to celebrate someone who means the world to me… my daughter, Danielle Nicole! 💖

38 years ago today, my life was forever changed when I became a mother. And somehow, in what feels like the blink of an eye, that little girl has turned 38!

How does that even happen?! 🥹❤️

They say our children grow up, but what they don't tell you is that no matter how many birthdays come and go, no matter how grown they become, a mother will always see that little one she once held in her arms.

Danielle, watching you grow into the beautiful, strong, independent woman you are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. I couldn't be prouder of all you've accomplished, the life you've built, and most importantly, the person you've become.

Of all the wonderful things you've done, nothing makes my heart prouder than watching you be such an amazing mother to our precious Ella and Lily. Seeing the love you pour into those two girls and the beautiful memories you're creating with them is a gift beyond words. 💕💕

And then there's that determination of yours! From building a successful career as an RN, and then taking your lifelong love of Disney and turning it into another successful business. Who would have ever imagined that when your granddaddy took you to Disney for the very first time at just six months old, he was helping spark a passion that would one day become such a successful business. From a little girl experiencing the magic of Disney to a woman helping other families create their own magical memories… what a beautiful full-circle moment! 🏰✨

I'm so proud of your determination, your accomplishments, and the way you've followed your dreams. But even more than that, I'm proud of the kind, loving woman and mother you've become. And while the world knows you as Danielle, Mama to my two beautiful grands, Danielle the RN or Mouse Bound Vacations with Danielle—to me you'll always be my “Pookie”. ❤️

“I can't believe you're going to the mountains AGAIN!”

Joy.

My happy place.

That's it. That's the reason.

One thing I’ve learned over the years and know for certain is that life is entirely too short to keep explaining why something makes you happy.

Go to the mountains as often as you like. Change your career at 50. Cut your hair. Grow it back. Buy the car. Take the trip. Wear the outfit. Eat the cake. Start over. Do the thing you've been talking yourself out of for years.

And, oh my gosh, STOP worrying about what everybody else thinks!

We spend so much of our lives doing what we're supposed to do. Following timelines, meeting expectations, waiting for the right time… and waiting for permission.

Permission from WHO?!

Somewhere along the way, I realized that being an adult means I actually get to make some of these rules!

And you know what? There's enough in this world that's heavy. So when you find that place that makes you smile every single time you go there, why on earth would you wait?

I'm already dreaming about my next mountain getaway, and I'll be happy as you know what when I get there! Not everything needs to make sense to everybody else.

Sometimes “because it makes me happy” is the only explanation you need.

So go find your joy. Quit asking permission to enjoy it.

And if you ask me… definitely GO TO THE MOUNTAINS! ⛰️❤️

Because there's a pretty good chance you'll discover they're your happy place, too! ✨

“A Front Row Seat to Mt. LaConte!

We just spent a week at Swingin' On A Star in October, and already dreaming about going back. The mountain view is truly spectacular — the picture window frames Mt. LeConte perfectly like a painting, and we never got tired of watching the light change over the peaks, especially in peak fall color.

The cabin is luxurious and upgraded in all the right ways: cozy bedroom fireplaces, new kitchen appliances, cookware and utensils that made cooking a pleasure, and a lovely coffee / tea service to start the day. Whether watching the sunrise sipping coffee on the deck or watching it set from the hot tub in the evening was truly magical. The media room with its huge screen and surround sound speakers, made movie nights feel like a private theater.

The location couldn't be better, close to The Smoky Mountain National Park, The Arts and Crafts Community and downtown Gatlinburg. Our host Cathie was wonderful, attentive during our stay to ensure our comfort and satisfaction with clear communication and every detail covered before we arrived.

If you're thinking about a Gatlinburg getaway, stop thinking and book this cabin. You won't regret it!”
