After almost walking away with nothing from my impromptu stop by Twin Brothers Antiques…not because I didn’t want anything, but because I wanted too much…I had to get her. She should be the perfect addition to “Casey’s Hideaway.”

But I will be honest…I may keep her for myself. 😂

Staying in someone else’s “hideaway” is a great way to get ideas for my places. This is the perfect mountain cottage with trails nearby and just enough service to schedule a post. 😉

I am my best neighbor!

Did you know that the hideaways are located beside each other? It makes for a great setup for guests staying months at a time because it’s one less neighbor you have to be curious about. 👀 😂

We’ve all done it. You see something interesting in a thrift or antique store and say “I don’t need that,” only to think about it time after time regretting not buying it.

I’ve got a feeling this might be one of those pieces for me. I passed it up, but as a collector of interesting brass pieces I’m now looking at it as an opportunity to create small seasonal items for him to hold. 😂

Should I go back and get him? What have you left on the shelf and wished you wouldn’t?

This was once my bedroom. It kept me safe, and comfortable. My dogs were happy in this room while I was away. I selected my ideal peaceful color and re-painted it myself. (With help from a few friends)

I loved the way the light comes through the windows in the morning, waking me gently. (Thanks to blackout curtains you can now choose when you wake up.) I loved how big it was for a house this size. I loved the aquarium rock blue carpet still in the closet from a previous owner because it’s just so out of place.

Now other people get to love it. It will comfort them for a short period of their lives as it comforted me.

Is it a weird feeling to have strangers sleeping in “my” bed? You bet. But am I happy to know this space will be comfortable for my guests.
