The Greene County Partnership will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth is a time for reflection on freedom, resilience, and progress, while honoring the people and stories that have shaped our nation.

We encourage our community to attend the Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the Big Spring as we come together to recognize and celebrate this important day. Visit Town of Greeneville's page for more information.

✨What an incredible four nights in the Cherokee National Forest!✨

The 3rd Annual Greene County Firefly Festival has come to a close, and we're still reflecting on the amazing experience shared on May 29–30 and June 5–6.

As darkness settled over the mountain, thousands of Synchronous fireflies filled the forest with their perfectly timed flashes, creating one of nature's most remarkable displays. At the same time, the elusive Blue Ghost fireflies drifted quietly through the woods, their steady glow adding an almost otherworldly atmosphere to the evening.

For those of us who call Greene County home, it's easy to overlook just how special this natural phenomenon really is. This year, visitors traveled from across the country to experience it firsthand. We welcomed guests from Tennessee, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and South Carolina, and it's likely a few more states were represented as well.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and partnered with us to make this award winning event possible. Events like this are a reminder of how fortunate we are to have such extraordinary natural resources right here in our backyard.

Before we close the book on this year's festival, there is still one more opportunity to support the Friends of the Cherokee National Forest. The Illuminations Art Auction remains open for one more day. Featuring artwork inspired by the beauty of our mountains, forests, and fireflies, proceeds from the auction help support conservation and educational efforts throughout the Cherokee National Forest.

Place your bids here: https://go.rallyup.com/illuminations-2026-art-auction

Thank you again for making this year's festival such a success. We hope to see you next year!

Many people don't realize that selling clothes online, taking items to a consignment shop, hosting a swap, shopping at yard sales, buying from local resale groups, and thrifting are all part of the same idea: keeping usable items in circulation and out of the landfill. ♻️💚

Take a picture with your banner and share it in the comments or tag Discover Greeneville. Whether you're representing your business, organization, family, or simply your love for Greeneville and America, we'd love to see your patriotic pride on display.
