ores and splash in the water a bit or read a good book under the shade of an umbrella against the backdrop of the breathtaking glistening ocean. Your vacation home includes a private boat launch and a boat slip, so feel free to bring your own boat. With so many bodies of water at your beck and call, a mellow ride on the waves is always within reach. There are plenty of opportunities for some games of golf at the many courses available at your fingertips, such as the Craft Farms Golf Club, or spend a fun-filled day out with friends at The Track, an amusement park with all the roller coasters and bumper car rides you could ask for. Walk in through the front door and take in the sea-inspired décor, turquoise pillows lining the comfortable furnishings in the living area. Step out onto the balcony and bear witness to the bay with a cup of morning coffee or embark on an early boating expedition to start your day off right. You'll have your own private washer/dryer to wash away the day's dirt, and a kitchen for you to whip up a delicious meal for you and your guests. Simmer down in the on-site hot tub, or take a nice swim in the pool. The property is located on the scenic and serene Fort Morgan Peninsula, three miles east of Fort Morgan State Historic Site and the ferry to Dauphin Island. In the other direction, the center of Gulf Shores is only 18 miles east, where you'll find great restaurants, ice cream parlors, all sorts of conveniences, and attractions that include Waterville USA and Gulf State Park. Did you know that when you walk on the white sandy beaches of AL and FL that you are actually walking on the Appalachian mountains?

“Why is the sand so white on the Florida Panhandle (and at Gulf Shores/AL beaches)? The sand here...is among the whitest, cleanest and softest in the world! What you might not know, is that when you walk on the beaches here, you are actually walking on the Appalachian Mountains.

The sand here is comprised mainly of 99% pure silica quartz washed down from the mountains by the Apalachicola River. The quartz is ground to a perfect oval in each grain of sand. It is so fine in texture, it literally "squeaks" under your toes as you walk on it!

Normally, such quartz has a rosy pink tint because of it's oxide coating, but the sugary-white quartz lost it's coating somewhere along it's watery journey thousands of years ago.

Visitors rave about it, and people call it the "sugar-white beaches" of Northwest Florida (and south AL). The sand accumulated creating sand bars along the river bends and streams on its long journey all the way down south to the edges of the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The white sand also helps our beaches from heating up like an oven in the Summer time, unlike other beaches with darker and coarser sand.”
