ADVENTURE IS THE MEDICINE WE PRESCRIBE.

This is where it started.

Years ago I'd climb to the top of a giant magnolia tree and sit above the canopy of Hilton Head Island. The sounds of people disappeared. Birds drifted above the treetops. The island looked like one giant sea of green.

That feeling never left.

Today it's what we try to share with every family that steps aboard.

What is that?

Why did it do that?

Touch this.

Look what we found.

Feel the power of it.

Listen to that.

Watch that dolphin.

Follow that ray.

Because adventure isn't just about catching fish or finding shark teeth.

It's about curiosity.

It's about wonder.

It's about helping kids fall in love with the natural world.

Our captains are addicted to this lifestyle and honored to share it.

“IS THAT AN ALLIGATOR?!” 😳🐊

One of the best parts about what we do… seeing kids experience the wild Lowcountry for the very first time 😂❤️

This young explorer had NO idea what she was looking at when we stumbled across this prehistoric-looking sturgeon washed up on a hidden beach.

Honestly… can you blame her? These fish have been around since the dinosaurs 🦖These fish species survived the dinosaurs… but are barely surviving humans and are highly endangered .

What crazy intense music should we use for the walk-up to the carcass? 👀🎬

Moments like this are what Native Son Adventures is all about. Not just boat rides… REAL adventures and memories these kids will never forget.

🦈🏴‍☠️ SHARK TOOTH & FOSSIL HUNTING TIPS 🤙🏽

1️⃣ Go during the OFF season — October–March and even May can be incredible. Less pressure and more exposed finds.

2️⃣ Hunt after HUGE rains, king tides or hurricanes. Big water moves big teeth. 🌊

3️⃣ Want the giant stuff? Come with Native Son Adventures on the Savannah River “Day With a Native” trip. Some true monsters come from those rivers. ❤️

4️⃣ Look for edges, points, corners, coves, cuts and washouts. Current is everything.

5️⃣ Go about TWO HOURS earlier than you think you should. Early light matters. ☀️

6️⃣ Most of the bigger teeth end up HIGHER on beaches and riverbanks after strong currents move through.

7️⃣ Walk TOWARDS the sun, not with it at your back. Look for the shine and shape. 👀✨

8️⃣ During busy season, start sifting in an area where you’ve already found a few. Usually a good sign.

Most importantly — slow down, enjoy the hunt and have fun out there. Some of the best memories are made searching the tides with friends and family ❤️
