We awoke this weekend to what felt like fall in the air which means it's getting closer to time for hitting the trails again. Summer is just too brutal for us & especially group hikes so we consider it our "off season".
We long for the days of fall & especially winter when everyone thinks the forest is sleeping & a part of that may be true but oh the wonders we have witnessed during those seasons!
It was very apparent how hot & dry our summer has been by how low the lake appeared in some spots we came across.
Anyway, we hit the trails today & put in 5 miles & it felt amazing to be out in nature again. The afternoon did turn out to be quite warm but a treat of carbs & a cold H***y Tonk & Hochaweizen from Mountain Fork Brewery really hit the spot!
