Everyone thinks being a travel advisor means sipping cocktails on a beach somewhere. 🍹✈️

Reality?

Answering emails from the couch while Scrambles insists on being directly involved in every client itinerary. 🐈‍⬛💻

She's not much help with airfare, but she's excellent at quality control, keyboard warming, and making sure I can't possibly type efficiently.

Travel Myth: Travel agents cost more.

Reality: In many cases, you pay the same price whether you book directly or use a travel advisor.

The difference?

✔️ Someone is there when flights get canceled.
✔️ Someone is there when a supplier drops the ball.
✔️ Someone is there to help you choose between 15 hotel options that all look the same online.

Sometimes the cheapest option isn't the best value.

Travel well. Travel Brilliantly.

That travel credit sounds amazing... but do you actually know what it means?

I keep seeing more and more travel companies advertising "commission back," future travel credits, and rewards programs.

And to be clear, I'm not saying these programs are bad. Sometimes they can provide real value.

But there's a big difference between saving money today and receiving a future credit that comes with terms, conditions, expiration dates, or requires another purchase later.

Many travelers don't realize that distinction when they're comparing options.

Before you book based solely on a future travel credit, ask yourself:

✔️ What is my actual cost today?
✔️ How likely am I to use that credit?
✔️ Does it expire?
✔️ Is it tied to a future booking?
✔️ Am I comparing apples to apples?

At the end of the day, I believe travelers deserve transparency so they can make informed decisions about how they spend their vacation budget.

23 years ago, I started working at Disney World… and honestly, I don’t think I realized at the time how much it would shape the rest of my life and career.

Disney taught me so much more than just how to “do a job.” It taught me:

how to connect with people
how to truly take care of clients
how important details are
how to create memorable experiences
and yes… how to sell without making it feel like selling

But most importantly, it taught me the value of exceptional customer service and building genuine relationships.

Some of the friendships and connections I made during that time are still part of my life today.

Looking back now, I can honestly say my time at Disney helped shape the way I run my business, care for my clients, and approach travel every single day.

And for that, I’ll always be grateful. ❤️

River cruises aren’t priced randomly.

When you look at what’s included — accommodations, meals, daily excursions, beer and wine with lunch and dinner, and a very streamlined experience — the cost starts to make sense.
