Here’s something we’ve learned after booking a lot of trips: the word “upgrade” does a lot of heavy lifting.

Resorts are very good at making everything sound like a must-have. But some upgrades genuinely change your trip, and some just change the price.

The smartest luxury isn’t paying for more. It’s paying for the things you’ll actually feel once you’re there.

August is the month all of this started, so every year around now, we get a little reflective. A little throwback that still means a lot. This time last year, we celebrated 10 years of this business!

Grateful doesn’t quite cover it. None of it happens without the people in these photos & so many more - the clients who supported us, trusted us with their trips, their honeymoons, & their big once-in-a-lifetime moments and celebrate with us.

Someone asked this online, and it’s a fair question: “If I can book the hotel myself, why use a travel advisor?”

Honestly? You’ll usually find the same room rate online.

We’re not your discount, and we’d rather say that upfront. But depending on the property, that same booking can mean breakfast already handled, a room upgrade waiting at check-in, a resort credit you actually use, and your room ready when you land.

And if something goes wrong before or during the trip, you’re not the one left sorting it out.

That matters when your time off is limited and it isn’t a trip you want to gamble on.

So Jamaica is getting a UNICO, & you can already book it, which is a little strange for a resort that doesn’t open until March 2027.

And yes, we’ll be reposting these renderings like everyone else, because they’re gorgeous. But they get made before a single guest has walked through the place, so they can’t tell you whether the third restaurant opened on time or whether the spa still feels calm once the resort is actually full.

That’s the part we go & find out, honestly. Not for every property, just the ones people keep asking us about, & Jamaica’s been getting a lot of those lately.

They came to us for their honeymoon without a destination picked yet, which honestly is our favorite scenario! Only 1 criteria: it had to be near a good golf course.

We got to work out what they wanted the week to actually feel like all while keeping his request in mind.

Flights, transfers, reservations —all of that came afterwards.

He said it felt effortless from start to finish & that’s the part that stays with us.

Barbados has a new adult-oriented resort on its calm Platinum Coast, and it’s a good one.

Royalton Vessence calls itself a sensory escape, and it lives up to the name. 220 suites with swim-out options, 17 spots to eat and drink, and a rooftop pool you can actually swim in late into the night. All on the quieter, more refined side of the island.

Here’s something I’ve noticed: the people who most need help with a big trip are usually the ones most sure they’ve got it handled. 

And you probably do. That was never the question. You’re capable; you’ve booked plenty of trips before.

But booking a trip vs curating an experience aren’t the same thing.

When it’s the anniversary you’ve been counting down to, or your first real break in two years, “good enough” starts to feel risky. You don’t get a redo on that one. So that’s the part we quietly carry for you. Not because you can’t.

So you don’t have to.
