🚨 Planning to celebrate the 4th of July week at Sand Harbor? Here's what you need to know!

☀️ Nevada State Parks now requires reservations for morning access to one of Tahoe’s most iconic beaches — and we just checked: next week's reservations appear to be sold out.

❓Can you still get access to Sand Harbor? While reservations are required daily from 8:00–10:30 AM through October 15, after 10:30 AM, any unclaimed spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sand Harbor will post on their social media when all these spots are gone.

🚲🚶‍♀️Entry is available for pedestrians and bikers from the East Shore Trail. You cannot park on Highway 28 and walk in from the main entrance.

🚙 This system helps improve your beach day experience, reduce traffic, and support efforts to Keep Tahoe Blue.

🚨Attention Boaters!
🚤 Watercraft are a leading vector for spreading aquatic invasive species (AIS) into new waterways. Mandatory inspections and decontaminations stop aquatic invaders before they enter the water.

Inspection stations are located at Spooner Summit on the East Shore (Hwy 28 & 50 intersection), in South Lake Tahoe at Meyers, and in North Lake Tahoe at Incline Meadows. Learn more and schedule your inspection at https://tahoeboatinspections.com

Kayakers, Anglers, Paddleboarders.... All watercraft and gear must be Clean, Drained, and Dry before and after launching to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. Paddlers, kayakers, anglers, and other beachgoers are encouraged to watch the 5-minute training video at Lake Tahoe Boat Inspections to become certified Tahoe Keepers.

💙Thank you for helping protect Lake Tahoe from the devastating environmental and economic impacts of aquatic invasive species.

🐧Chirp, tweet, cheeseburger... how well do you know the sounds of Tahoe's Birds?

Join Travel North Tahoe Nevada (TNTNV) and Alan Gubanich, long-time member of the Lahontan Audubon Society (LAS) in Reno, as he describes the incredible bird life that you probably don’t even know surrounds you in the Tahoe Basin.

Who knows — you too might become a bird-nerd after this talk! Lake Tahoe is a gorgeous lake, and its surrounding areas are filled with many kinds of birds. How many can you recognize? Can you tell a Steller’s Jay from a Blue Jay? Can you recognize a Mountain Chickadee, a Western Tanager, a Pygmy Nuthatch, or an Eared Grebe? Do you know how many Bald Eagles call the Tahoe Basin home?
