It’s never too early to start planning your fall colors road trip.
When the oaks, maples, aspens, and cottonwoods begin to turn, the landscapes of our iconic national parks and public lands explode into a kaleidoscope of color.

Here are three of our favorite places to camp and road trip this fall:

~ New England from Portland, Maine ~
Whether you’re headed to the White or Green Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont in late September, or exploring Acadia National Park or the Adirondacks in October, our Portland hub is the perfect launch point for a classic New England fall colors adventure.

~ Highway 395 from San Francisco or Las Vegas ~
Driving alongside the tallest mountains in the Lower 48 as the leaves change is nearly impossible to describe; you just have to see it for yourself. Explore the June Lake Loop, Mammoth Lakes, or even Death Valley and its surrounding high country. Both our San Francisco and Las Vegas hubs offer ideal starting points.

~ Southern Utah from Las Vegas or Salt Lake City ~
Zion, Bryce, Arches, and Grand Canyon National Parks are legendary for their red rock beauty, but in fall, the cottonwoods, quaking aspens, and Gambel oaks add another layer of color that transforms the landscape into a natural kaleidoscope.
