Before Camp ASCCA became a reality, it began as a vision. In 1968, the Alabama Society's Camping Committee was already exploring the possibility of creating a permanent camp for children and adults with disabilities. Their goal was simple but powerful: provide opportunities for recreation, independence, and belonging.

As we celebrate 50 years of Camp ASCCA, we're looking back at the people, plans, and dreams that made it all possible. This article is a reminder that every great legacy starts with an idea and a group of people willing to make it happen. 💙

On Monday, campers enjoyed their first full day back at ASCCA. Thankfully the rain stayed away, giving them the chance to enjoy the outside by participating in different activities: tubing, zipline, demo farm and pool.
