Denver was such a fun city! Taking the train from the airport to Union Station and getting around on the free 16th Street Mall shuttle. Downtown is incredibly walkable, which made it easy to explore!

One of the highlights was touring the U.S. Mint and seeing where currency is made—such a cool experience. The Daniels & Fisher clock tower, built in 1911 in an Italian Renaissance style, was once the tallest building west of the Mississippi and is still an iconic sight. The Colorado State Capitol, built in 1894, was just as impressive with its gold-leafed dome and unique Colorado Rose Onyx interior.

Stroll through Civic Center Park, take in the incredible architecture including Trinity Methodist Church, and savor the art spilling out onto nearly every corner. The plethora of unique coffee shops, wide array of cultural foods, and the overall vibe of the city are just so enjoyable.

Pick up a book and travel—no passport required. Step into another time, another culture, another mind. Feel the streets of ancient Rome or the cafés of 1920s Paris come alive through words.

And it’s even better when you read about a place while you’re there—turning pages in the very setting of the story. The world around you blends with the one on the page.

A good book doesn’t just tell a story. It transports you—sometimes twice. 📚

”Reading makes immigrants of us all. It takes us away from home, but more important, it finds homes for us everywhere.” – Jean Rhys

🚗 PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY ROAD TRIP ITINERARY 🌊
San Diego ➝ Seattle | 8–12 Days | One of the greatest drives on Earth

DAY 1–2: San Diego → Los Angeles
Start in sunny San Diego, cruising the coast past La Jolla and Orange County beaches. Stop at Laguna Beach, Malibu, and Santa Monica. Sunset in LA is mandatory.

DAY 3: Los Angeles → Big Sur
This is the money stretch. Cliffs, crashing waves, Bixby Bridge, McWay Falls. Take your time. Pull over often. No rushing Big Sur.

DAY 4: Big Sur → San Francisco
Morning fog, dramatic coastline, then roll into San Francisco. Golden Gate Bridge, Twin Peaks, Fisherman’s Wharf.

DAY 5: San Francisco → Redwood National and State Parks
Drive north into another world. Walk among the tallest trees on Earth. This part feels prehistoric.

DAY 6: Redwood National and State Parks → Oregon Coast
Endless rugged coastline, hidden beaches, sea stacks, and quiet coastal towns.

DAY 7: Oregon Coast → Portland (optional detour)
Lighthouses, Cannon Beach, Haystack Rock. Optional inland stop for food, coffee, and waterfalls.

DAY 8: Oregon → Washington Coast
Wild beaches, rainforests, dramatic headlands. Olympic Peninsula is worth the detour if you’ve got time.

DAY 9–10: Washington → Seattle
Finish strong in Seattle. Pike Place, Space Needle, waterfront views. Trip complete.

📏 Distance: ~1,600 miles (2,575 km)
⏱ Ideal Time: 8–12 days
💡 Tip: Always check Big Sur road conditions. Landslides happen and detours can be long.

This isn’t just a road trip.
It’s cliffs, forests, cities, fog, sun, and the Pacific never leaving your side.
