Another guest noticed the knives were Henckels. Someone else said the fridge and freezer came in clutch. A third said the kitchen had everything they needed and more.

Nobody photographs a kitchen drawer. But it is the thing that decides whether you cook here or eat out every night, and cooking here is cheaper and better.

Will forever be a "where you stay matters" type of person.

You can do this island from anywhere. A resort room, a motel by the highway, someone's spare condo. It works.

Or you can wake up somewhere with the doors open, a chair in the corner you will actually sit in, and the water right there.

Same trip. Not the same week.

The one thing every single guest photographs first.

It is the eucalyptus on the shower head. Every time. It costs almost nothing and it ends up on more stories than the ocean does.

Then it is the shaka on the kitchen shelf. Then the shoes-off sign at the door.

None of the things people photograph here are the expensive things. Worth remembering if you are setting up a place of your own.

POV: your camera roll after a weekend at the cutest Airbnb.

Watermelon on the counter. The mirror photo in the towels. Someone reading on the sofa who did not know they were being photographed. The made bed you took a picture of because you could not quite believe it was yours for the weekend.

Nobody's photos from here look like listing photos, and that is the point.

Take the whole place.

Everyone gets their own space, and you still eat breakfast together. That one sentence is why groups book here instead of three rooms at a hotel.

Three suites, one roof, ten people. Reunions, milestone birthdays, a small wedding, or the trip where you finally get the grandparents and the grandkids under one roof.

Groups book longer and they book earlier. If you are thinking about next spring, now is when to ask.

There is a high chair. There is a huge sofa with nothing sharp near it. The kitchen works properly, which matters more than anything else when you are travelling with a small person who eats at six.

Nobody puts "good for a one year old learning to walk" in a listing. But that is what she told us, so here it is.
