The Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association is 112-year-old summer program for ages 2 to 17. We offer recreational and enrichment classes, from swimming, surfing and sailing, to golf and tennis, arts and crafts and some 50 more offerings in between. It’s almost time for one of our favorite summer traditions — KBIA’s 34th Annual A Day at the Beach 1K Fun Run and 5K Road Race! Whether you’re a speedy sprinter, a stroller-pusher, or just in it for the post-race snacks and good vibes, there’s a spot for you at the starting line.



Race Day is four days away! 🏃‍♂️🏃 You may pick up your race packet this week on the front porch during the following times:

• Thursday, 9-11 AM
• Friday, 9-11 AM
• Friday, 2-5 PM
• Or pick them up Sunday, beginning at 7:30 AM, near the Dipsy Bath sign on Smith House.

Pre-register online by midnight on Thursday, July 3 — or come early Sunday morning to sign up in person. We hope to see you this weekend!

A KBIA kid herself back in the day, Cary Palmisano is back at Kennebunk Beach this summer to teach yoga! 🧘‍♀️ Classes run for an hour Saturday mornings under the tent, and they are open to ages 16+.

Cary is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with over a decade of dedicated yoga practice. Cary’s classes welcome all levels and are rooted in a dynamic, hour-long vinyasa flow designed for students tap into their physical strength while finding a flow state syncing breath to movement to calm the nervous system.

Cary initially discovered yoga as a stretching and recovery complement to training for long runs. She quickly felt the mental escape and inner peace that yoga practice enables, and yoga became an integral part of her self-care.

Over the years, Cary’s practice has evolved with her, supporting her through injuries, pregnancy, and postpartum. Cary hopes to inspire her students to find a yoga practice that meets them exactly where they are in each chapter of life.
