KBIA The Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association is 116-year-old summer program for ages 2 to 17. We hope to see you at the Beach!

The Kennebunk Beach Improvement Association is 112-year-old summer program for ages 2 to 17. We offer recreational and enrichment classes, from swimming, surfing and sailing, to golf and tennis, arts and crafts and some 50 more offerings in between. Classes are open to KBIA members, and membership is open to the public. For more information, visit our office in Strong Cottage (to your right) or visit us on the web: www.kbia.net.

We love our CITs! 💙

Our CIT program for ages 13–14 is such an important part of KBIA — not only for us as a camp, but for these young people as they begin learning what it means to be helpers, workers, teammates and leaders.

Yesterday, our CITs took part in a group challenge where they had to work together to move a plate, bowl, cup, and fork as far as they could. What started as a simple exercise quickly turned into five minutes of creativity, teamwork, laughter, trial and error, and some pretty impressive problem-solving — note using the Crocs at the end!

They held hands, stretched legs, balanced feet, helped one another, tried, failed, adjusted and tried again — until they succeeded. And really, that’s exactly what leadership is all about.

We are so proud of this group and so grateful for the energy, spirit, and heart they bring to KBIA. The future is bright with these CITs leading the way!
