Piston Peak Speeding into Magic Kingdom

“Piston Peak National Park will be part of the largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom.” - Disney Parks Blog

We have exciting details about the new Cars area coming to Magic Kingdom in the near future. But to make way for the expansion, Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat will close beginning July 7, 2025.

The new Cars themed area called Piston Peak National Park will bridge the area between Liberty Square and Frontierland while representing the natural beauty of the American wilderness.

We can’t wait to learn more about the new areas coming including a first of its kind villains land being built beyond Big Thunder Mountain.
