As owners we strive to continually maintain and enhance Ohana Retreat. Our latest project has been to widen our driveway to give better access and exit when there are two cars parked on the drive. We are pleased with the finished result!

The Disney art festival in Epcot never fails to impress. It runs in Mid January to mid February and has many attractions including:

✨. Art displays around the park often with the artist on site to sign any purchases. We have four prints in Ohana Retreat signed to the Shepherd family.

✨ Disney on broadway costume display which are truly incredible, especially some of the costumes from the Lion King.

✨ Nightly shows featuring Disney on Broadway singers. These are so good with the original singers from the shows being paired up and generally doing three nights. With three shows a night there is plenty of time to catch your favourite.

✨ On the bridge to the World Showcase, chalk artists can be found creating amazing chalk pictures on the pavement. It’s fascinating talking to them as they work.

✨ You can learn how to draw a Disney character with regular classes at the American pavilion.

EPCOT has so much to offer with the ever changing themes of the Art Festival, the Flower and Garden festival followed by the Food and Wine festival and the Festival of the Holidays (Christmas). The amazing firework and choreographed music show Lumionous: The Symphony of Us is a perfect way to end a special day.

Blue Spring StatePark.

An ideal day to visit Blue Springs state park in the winter months is a day that starts off very cold. The Manatees then return to the springs as the water is a constant 72 degree’s Fahrenheit, warm compared to the sea temps where they can easily beome hypothermic. We were fortunate to see many Manatees from the boardwalk, some with calves, various birds and many fish in the clear water.

To protect the manatees visitors cannot enter the water or Kayak in the winter months. They can enjoy the park, have a picnic or BBQ, visit Thursby historic house or enjoy a narrated boat trip. Additionally in the summer months when the Manates are not in the spring, visitors can swim / snorkel with the fish (it is chilly at 72f!), or kayak or tube in the spring.
It is always a pleasure to visit and a privilege to see Manatees in their natural environment.

Christmas 2025

A Disney Florida holiday is a fantastic way to make lasting family memories. It’s a very special time of year with so many different things to see and do. Christmas shows, parades and activities all to be enjoyed in the Florida sunshine.

Ohana Retreat is almost fully booked for 2026 but Christmas is still available. 🎅🎄😀

We have just been able to share our first Christmas as a family Retreat. We have enjoyed the mostly warm temperatures. Happy family days at Disney, fun, laughter and making memories with our 3 adult daughters, their husbands and 3 grandchildren. Our 3YO grandson has enjoyed the pool and has progressed to being able to swim a length. The two babies have enjoyed a dip, learned to wave and are beginning to clap. Both are now crawling and exploring!
Buddy the Elf seemed to get up to some tricks before he returned to the North Pole when Father Christmas visited.

We have been renting Ohana Retreat for almost four years now and now have over 50 reviews on our page and other booking platforms, every one being 5 stars.
We work incredibly hard to ensure all our guests get the very best experience from their stay and we think this is reflected in our reviews.
Spending quality time in Ohana Retreat at least twice a year allows us to continually enhance our home. On each trip we work hard cleaning, redecorating and upgrading with any features we think will enhance our guest’s experience. Feedback from guests is really important and many disability features have been added as a result of this.

Whilst an average 5 star is amazing the real telling part of any review is the comments. We have received some wonderful and insightful comments and we have summarised some of these below:

For our non-US visitors please note that the price of an ESTA is increasing from $21 to $40 on 30th September 2025.

An ESTA is valid for two years so if you have booked your holiday and haven’t yet competed your ESTA application you may wish to do it before the end of the month.

Please ensure you use the correct website as below, there are lots of scam sites that will come up on a google search. Also please ensure you read all questions carefully before answering.
