Before you book a “family-friendly” resort… check the kids club age ranges.

Not all kids clubs are created equal. Some start at age 4, some at 6, and others have different programs for teens vs. little kids. If you’re traveling with multiple ages, this can make a big difference in how relaxing the trip actually feels.

A few things I always check for my clients:
• What ages the kids club accepts
• If younger kids need to be potty trained
• Whether there’s a separate teen lounge or activities
• If evening babysitting is available

Because a resort that’s “family-friendly” might still leave you entertaining a bored 13-year-old or chasing a toddler who’s too young for the club.

Little details like this can totally change the experience of your trip and it’s one of the reasons having someone help you choose the right resort matters.

Family vacations go by fast, but the memories stick around forever. That’s why I love recommending Beaches Resorts for families.

These resorts are designed so everyone in the family has something they’re excited about. Kids clubs, waterparks, snorkeling, beach days, nightly entertainment, and plenty of space for parents to relax too. It’s the kind of trip where your kids are talking about it for years after.

Some of my favorite moments families experience here aren’t the big excursions, they’re the simple ones:
watching the kids race down the water slides, late night ice cream runs, beach walks at sunset, and finally having time together without the stress of planning every detail.

Family travel isn’t just about going somewhere new. It’s about giving your kids memories they’ll carry with them long after the trip is over.

If a Caribbean family trip has been on your mind, I’d love to help you find the right Beaches resort and room type for your crew.

If your idea of vacation leans more toward adventure than lounging, an Alaska cruise might be exactly what you’re looking for.

An Alaska sailing isn’t just about the ship, it’s about what you experience along the way. Think towering glaciers, whale watching, rugged coastlines, and excursions like dog sledding, helicopter glacier landings, and hiking through rainforest trails. It’s the kind of trip where every day feels a little different.

And travelers are catching on. Alaska cruises have become one of the most popular cruise experiences in the world, with ports like Juneau welcoming around 1.7 million cruise visitors in a single season as demand continues to grow.

What I love about Alaska cruises is that they blend comfort with adventure. You can spend the morning watching glaciers calve into the ocean from your balcony, then head out in the afternoon for wildlife tours, kayaking, or exploring historic port towns.

It’s perfect for travelers who want more than just a beach vacation. Alaska is about the scenery, the wildlife, and the sense of exploring somewhere truly wild.

If Alaska has been on your list, I’d love to help you figure out the best cruise line, itinerary, and timing for the kind of adventure you’re looking for.

For my next Alaska cruise, I already know I want to experience it a little differently.

Last time we went, I completely fell in love with Alaska. The scenery, the ports, the feeling that everywhere you look there’s something incredible to see. But now that I’ve done it once, I have a few things on my Alaska cruise wish list.

First, I want to see more glaciers. One I’d especially love to visit is Dawes Glacier. It sits at the end of the dramatic Endicott Arm fjord, surrounded by waterfalls, cliffs, and floating ice, and cruise ships often sail right up close to watch massive chunks of ice calve into the water.

I’m also thinking about braving a whale watching excursion. I’ll be honest… the idea of being on a smaller boat near such huge animals makes me a little nervous. But at the same time, seeing whales up close in Alaska would be such an incredible experience that I think it would be worth pushing past that fear.

There are also a few things I’d happily do again. I’d love to return to Skagway to ride the famous White Pass & Yukon Route Railway. The views from that train ride are unforgettable. And in Juneau, I’d absolutely go back up the Goldbelt Tram for those incredible mountain and harbor views.

One thing we’re also considering for next time is sailing from Alaska instead of Seattle or Vancouver. Spending a day or two there before the cruise could be such a fun way to start the trip and explore a little more of the state before even stepping on the ship.

Alaska is one of those places that once you visit, you immediately start thinking about the next time you’ll go back.
