Dolly Parton’s legacy reaches around the world, but here in Knoxville, Tennessee, her story has always felt especially close to home. 🤍

🎙️ Where it started: A young Dolly appeared on the Cas Walker Show, broadcast on Knoxville radio. Today, that piece of her story lives on as Stop #13 on Knoxville’s Cradle of Country Music Walking Tour.

💎 Where we celebrate her: Every year, Rhinestone Fest fills the Old City with Dolly Parton music, costumes, themed specials, and a market to celebrate Dolly!

🎨 Where you’ll see her: One of Downtown Knoxville’s most iconic murals is of Dolly Parton, located at Strong Alley.

👗 Where her history lives: Inside the East Tennessee History Center, one of Dolly’s dresses helps tell the story of the East Tennessee girl who would go on to become known and loved around the world.

🐢 Puns we love: Zoo Knoxville named a snake “Dolly Python” and Ijams Nature Center has a turtle named “Shellene.”

Dolly never forgot where she came from, and East Tennessee will never forget her! We’ll always love you, Dolly Parton, the Queen of East Tennessee. 🤍🦋
