If you’ve ever joined us for a Haunted Adventure, you know the energy is real. This year, "The Paranormal Historian" is gearing up to get back into the field and investigate the city's darkest secrets, but we can't do it alone.

We are assembling a special "Mobile Command Team" to help us operate safely and effectively this season. We need dedicated hands to assist with logistics and support as we bring our unique, hands-on investigations to the streets.

A True Work of Art: My "Armor of God" Cover-Up

I have to give a massive shout-out to Julie, one of the most incredible artists I know.
In the past year I went to Julie to tackle one of my most difficult tattoo projects: a full sleeve cover-up that required extreme precision and patience. She didn't just hide the old ink; she transformed it into a masterpiece.

The Man Behind the Darkness: J-Adam Smith’s New Battle

Many of you know me as the voice and the mind behind the Ghost Tours—guiding you through the shadows and history of the night. But right now, I am navigating a different kind of darkness.
Recently, I made the most difficult decision of my life to save my own future: a Below-Knee Amputation. It wasn't a defeat; it was a strategic maneuver to reclaim my life from severe trauma. I am recovering now, but the journey is far from over.
I am documenting every step of this "Ex Cinere" (From the Ashes) journey on my blog—sharing the pain, the spiritual victories, and the "Architect" mindset that keeps me fighting.

OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM YOUR PARANORMAL HISTORIAN

Even the Supernatural requires a little "Strategic Maintenance."

Knoxville, I’ve got some news. I’ll be taking a brief hiatus from the cobblestones as I undergo a significant surgery tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug 19th) to upgrade my "operating system."

As you know, I don't do anything halfway. While I’m recovering, I’ll be working hard to return to the streets better, faster, and stronger than before.

I appreciate all the love, the ghost stories, and the support you’ve shown me over the last month. I’ll be back to lead you into the shadows before you know it.

THE NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS TUESDAY

Friends, family, and community—

I wanted to share some news. After weeks of perseverance, evaluation, and prayer, I have made the difficult but necessary decision to move forward with a Below-Knee Amputation this coming Tuesday.

While this is a major step, I am approaching it with peace and determination. I have decided to choose the path that allows me to return to my life, my students, and my work as quickly and strongly as possible. This isn't the end of my story; it's a new beginning.

A massive thank you to the incredible medical team fighting for me:

* To Dr. Rappe at KOC for your amazing advocacy and for listening to me when others wouldn't.
* To Dr. Adam Short—an exceptional surgeon—for agreeing to take on my case and guide me through this.
* To Park West Hospital for the amazing support and for helping me navigate this recovery.

I am surrounded by heroes. I ask for your thoughts and prayers this Tuesday. I look forward to getting back on my feet (and back to the violin and tours) very soon.
