When the captain gets excited, you know an epic encounter is happening. 🐋✨This behavior is called a spyhop, when the whale raises its head out of the water. 🩵 We never approach whales closer than 100 yards, but sometimes the whales are the ones who get curious. This humpback decided to come check us out. Could it have been saying hello with that behavior? Whatever the reason, the crew and passengers were excited to witness this moment up close!
