🍩 Orlando Doughnut Debate 🍩

If you’re in Orlando and love a good sweet treat, two spots that are always on our list are Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew and Voodoo Doughnut.

Everglazed is our go-to when we’re at Disney Springs. The doughnuts are huge, loaded with toppings, and pair perfectly with a cold brew.

Voodoo is a must-stop when we’re at Universal. Fun flavors, over-the-top creations, and a great way to start or end a park day.

One of my favorite things about travel is finding those little traditions that become part of every trip, and these two stops definitely make our Orlando list every time.

Disney has revealed a new piece of the story behind the upcoming Monstropolis land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and it all centers around H.U.M.A.N. Day, short for Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice.

According to the fictional Monstropolis Horn newspaper, the city has made the historic decision to welcome humans into Monstropolis for the very first time. The celebration marks the next chapter in the world of Monsters, Inc., following the discovery that laughter is far more powerful than screams.

As construction continues behind the walls at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, more details are emerging about what guests can expect when Monstropolis opens, including iconic locations like Harryhausen’s, the Glob Theater, and a city powered by laughter instead of fear.

Have you ever been on vacation, completely relaxed and going with the flow, only to discover that the restaurant you wanted to try has no availability?

That happened to us on our recent Walt Disney World trip.

Nate and I decided we wanted a more relaxed vacation. We didn’t want to be tied to a schedule or worry about making dining reservations months in advance. We wanted to slow down, enjoy the atmosphere, and simply take in the magic.

One evening, about an hour before dinner, Nate said, “Let’s just walk over to Boatwright’s and eat.” Since we were staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter, it seemed like a simple plan.

So I pulled up the app.

No reservations.

We tried joining the waitlist.

No luck.

We even walked over and asked if they had any availability.

Still no.

In the end, we grabbed dinner at a quick-service location instead. For us, it wasn’t a big deal because dining wasn’t a priority on this trip.

But it got me thinking.

If Boatwright’s had been the one restaurant we were really looking forward to experiencing, missing out could have been a disappointment.

That’s why I always encourage Disney travelers to think about what matters most to them before their trip. If there’s a restaurant you absolutely don’t want to miss, making a reservation can save you from that last-minute frustration.

There’s no right or wrong way to vacation at Disney. Some people love having a plan, while others prefer to be spontaneous. The key is knowing which experiences are most important to you and planning for those.
