There are two kinds of Disney people in September.

The ones who think it’s still summer.

And the ones who see the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street and know it is officially spooky season. 🎃

I know which group I’m in.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is one of those Disney experiences that can make a familiar park feel completely different. Magic Kingdom after dark, Halloween entertainment, special characters, trick-or-treating through the park, and a whole different atmosphere than you’ll find during a regular park day.

It’s not something I think every Disney vacation needs. But if you love Halloween and your trip falls during party season? It’s definitely worth considering when we’re deciding how to build your park days.

So, where do you fall: spooky season as soon as possible, or absolutely not until October?

My Disney dining reservations are officially booked!

And I’ll admit, choosing where to eat is one of my favorite parts of planning a Disney trip. But it’s also a good reminder that there are so many options that there really isn’t one “best” Disney restaurant.

For this trip, I thought about where we’ll be each day, what else we’re doing, and what makes sense without spending half the day getting from one reservation to another.

So we have a great steak on arrival night, a couple of meals that with pretty fantastic fireworks views, a late lunch that could give us a parade-viewing bonus, and of course, a character breakfast....Because it’s still Disney. 😂

Swipe through to see what I booked and why each one made sense for this trip.

A good Disney dining plan should support your adventure, not turn it into a race between reservations.

Which one would you be most excited about?

Taking three generations to Disney World can be wonderful.

It can also involve eight opinions about ride order before anyone has even entered the park. 😂

The trick isn’t getting everyone to do everything together. It’s building a trip where it’s perfectly okay for part of the family to ride Space Mountain while someone else heads to Mickey’s PhilharMagic.

Then everyone meets back up later for dinner with a favorite character and plenty of stories about what they did while they were apart.

Sometimes the secret to a great multigenerational Disney trip is knowing when NOT to stay together.

One less stop between the airport and vacation mode. 🧳

Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer pilot has expanded to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.

Eligible Guests can drop off their checked luggage at the Airport Luggage Transfer desk at the porte cochere for direct delivery to their departing flight at Orlando International Airport.

A few important details:
• Caribbean Beach joins the five Value Resorts already participating: Disney's All-Star Resorts, Disney's Art of Animation and Disney's Pop Century Resort
• Current participating airlines are American, Southwest and United
• Domestic flights only

This is exactly the kind of small logistics update that can make a Disney departure day a little less painful.

It seemed pretty straightforward at first. 😂

And then came the resort choices.
The dining.
The transportation.
The park plans.
The “wait, when was I supposed to book that?” moment...

Somewhere along the way, the vacation started requiring its own project manager.

And suddenly we're all Pooh with a net.

Fortunately, I know a project manager. 😉

After years of hotel stays and site tours, I've learned that what makes a room work isn't always what's in the pretty photos.

I notice luggage space, outlets, bathroom storage, lighting, and whether two people can actually get ready without negotiating a peace treaty.

The glamorous life of a travel advisor. 😂

One of the easiest ways to protect your Disney Cruise vacation? Arrive the day before you sail.

A same-day flight leaves almost no room for weather, mechanical delays or missed connections. I’d much rather have you spend a relaxed night at Walt Disney World or near the airport than spend embarkation morning watching a flight-delay notification and wondering if you’re going to make the ship.

Cruise Saturday? Travel Friday. 🚢

Future-you will be very glad you did.

Disney dropped a LOT of news at D23, but these are the announcements that caught my attention the most.

We learned more about Villains Land and Piston Peak at Magic Kingdom, got new details about what's coming to Animal Kingdom, and Disneyland gave us quite a bit to look forward to in 2027 and 2028.

Some of these projects are still a year or two away, and there's plenty we don't know yet. I'll be keeping an eye on the timelines, construction, and new details as Disney shares them, especially as they start to affect actual vacation planning.

And because I am a Halloween girlie who already loves Dark Universe at Epic Universe, I'm not even going to pretend Villains Land isn't at the very top of my list. 😂

What announcement has you most intrigued?

🎢 Universal Express Pass can be a game changer. But that doesn’t mean you necessarily need it for your entire vacation.

If you’re staying off-site, one of my favorite strategies is to choose the day you want to cover the most ground and purchase Express Pass just for that day. You can tackle more of your priority attractions with shorter waits, then take the rest of your trip at a more relaxed pace.

But before you buy it, check where you’re staying.

Guests at Universal Orlando’s three Signature Collection hotels that include complimentary Universal Express Unlimited receive it as part of their stay:

🌴 Loews Royal Pacific Resort
🎸 Hard Rock Hotel
🏰 Loews Portofino Bay Hotel

And yes, that benefit includes both your check-in and check-out days.

Depending on your travel dates and party size, that can make upgrading your hotel surprisingly worth comparing against the cost of purchasing Express separately.

Universal planning isn’t always about adding more.

Sometimes it’s about knowing which perks are already hiding in your vacation. 😉
