“There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow…” ✨
For over 60 years, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress has been more than an attraction — it’s been Walt’s living love letter to optimism, innovation, and the American family. From its debut at the 1964 New York World’s Fair to generations of guests at Walt Disney World, this iconic rotating theater has continued to evolve while holding onto the same timeless heart.
And now… another new chapter is on the way. 🚀
Beginning in 2027, Imagineers will unveil a refreshed version of the beloved classic featuring:
🌙 A 1960s moon landing scene
🎃 A totally tubular 1980s Halloween celebration
🎉 A Y2K New Year’s Eve finale in 1999
🤖 And an all-new vision of the future inspired by original Disney Legend John Hench concepts
Plus — for the very first time ever — Walt Disney himself will appear inside the attraction through Audio-Animatronics technology. ❤️
What makes Carousel of Progress so special is that it was never meant to stand still. The entire show is about progress, change, and believing that tomorrow can always be brighter than today.
And honestly? That message feels more important now than ever.
Carousel of Progress closes July 6, 2026 for this major transformation and is expected to reopen in 2027.
There’s truly a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day. ✨
