Calling all lovers of the outdoors! June 6th (tomorrow!) is National Trails Day 🥾 & Wyoming Free Fishing Day! 🎣

National Trails Day, established by the American Hiking Society in 1993, occurs annually on the first Saturday in June. Enjoy this fee-free day in the beautiful lands we get to call home.

June 6th is also Free Fishing Day! Each year, Game and Fish designates the first Saturday of National Boating and Fishing Week as a free fishing day when anyone can fish in Wyoming (except within the Wind River Reservation and Yellowstone National Park) without a fishing license.

The Forest Service is also encouraging all visitors to take the Pledge and commit to leaving the trails better than you found them.

Some upcoming National Forest fee-free days include:

🚴 Constitution Day: September 17, 2026
🦌 National Public Lands Day: September 26, 2026
