I just spent a few days in Leavenworth, WA and I must say it was absolutely beautiful!
It is wild that if you watch the news, they make it sound like it is ground zero for the atmospheric river weather system we had, not accessible, and like the town doesn't want you to come or something.
1. The roads are totally passable. I wasn't so much as delayed from Tri-Cities to there!
2. The town was lit up beautifully for Christmas!
Power on, business open, and hope running high!
3. There was a serious weather system but everyone I talked to spoke of the resilience of the town and most said it was bad, but they've experienced worse in the past.
Literally the whole time I was there my reoccurring thought...
"Gees if you watch the news, you'd think this town was wiped off the map, roads are trashed, and misery running rampant" and that is just not true.
While many have been affected by weather, fallen trees, and debris for sure, the town is open, accessible, and dying to resume their award-winning hospitality tourism that they've been looking forward to all year!
Make their day and visit Leavenworth!
I know what it is like to have your future hinge on hope and all these outside influences and market impact things really are hard to cope with when you are a family dependent on the income from a small business. Owners, operators, workers, and all!
All we have to do is drown out the negative and it goes away!
