[email protected] In 2009, we expanded to serve survivors in Schuylkill County.

The Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center (SARCC), works together with our community to prevent sexual violence and promote healing for those who experience it. Established in 1983, SARCC provides counseling, advocacy, and community action that will prevent the perpetration of sexual violence. Our work will change the culture of the community, with an end result of having a community that

is ready to provide affirming, trauma-informed responses to sexual violence and the skills needed to promote resilience and prevent perpetration. The services provided at SARCC are no-cost, and available to community members of all ages, genders, and identities.

You've walked with us, learned with us, and explored with us this week during our virtual Walk event. Now, your last challenge is to find a way to keep walking with us! Join us by following our page, volunteering your time, or making a donation to support prevention and healing services in our community. We need all of us to make a difference and say NO MORE to Sexual Violence. https://sarccheals.org/virtual-thriver-walk-join-our-cause/

If you remember back in April (SAAM) some sidewalk chalk art was done outside the Schuylkill office.

Here we are in June which is Pride Month and ironically the rainbow is the only image left from the original.

Former Intern Update!

Hello, my name is Tori! I started as an intern with SARCC in Summer 2023, and later moved into a Counseling and Advocacy role with them in the Fall. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I worked as a Housing Coordinator and Youth Advocate at a local youth homeless shelter. Now, I’m enrolled at Kutztown University, working towards a Master of Social Work and a School Social Work Certificate. I am working as the Outreach and Education Coordinator for the Berks County District Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness Assistance Unit and also as a hotline advocate for SARCC.

My experience at SARCC was incredibly meaningful—helping me build client-based skills, learn how to manage a workload, and gain valuable insight from some truly wonderful professionals. It also helped me clarify my career goals and fostered connections that continue to support me in my current role.
