Dominica is different.
A place of dramatic underwater landscapes formed by volcanic action, diverse marine life nurtured by nutrient-rich topaz waters, emerald rainforests, and golden Caribbean sunsets from oceanfront balconies. Divers get all this and more with current one-week specials at Fort Young Hotel.
Fort Young is a four-star heritage property located on the waterfront of Dominica's historic capital city of Roseau. Rooms and suites with sunset ocean views are built into the historic structures of an 18th-century military fortress, combining historic charm with modern, boutique-style accommodations. Guests enjoy the island's most acclaimed restaurant, unique bars, a rum and wine cellar, an oceanfront pool deck, a spa, fitness center, and hot/cold whirlpool bath tubs.
On-site Fort Young Dive is Dominica's premier full-service dive operation, with three custom-built catamarans designed for maximum stability and passenger comfort. Dominica diving pairs reefs and wrecks with intriguing seascapes of pinnacles, drop-offs, walls, submarine canyons, and bubbling fumaroles. Marine life and corals thrive within the protected waters of three marine reserves, and dive sites are located on the island's western shore, sheltered from prevailing trade winds and swell.
Dominica is known as The Caribbean's Nature Island, where hundreds of streams cascade through hidden valleys, organic farms nestle into seaside enclaves, and volcanic fumaroles fill an alpine valley with mist. After the dive, there are market visits, waterfall swims, hot spring soaks, and visits to the home of the Caribbean's original indigenous people. These adventures and more can be arranged through the hotel on an à la carte basis, or as part of an island-inclusive upgrade.
Enjoy seven nights in a Fort Oceanview accommodation, including daily breakfast and five days of two-tank morning boat dives. The package also features one excursion to Emerald Pool, a $50 spa credit per person, round-trip airport transfers, and all applicable government taxes, service charges, and marine park fees.
Shore or pier diving may be available for certified divers following scheduled boat dives; however, availability is subject to daily protocols and is restricted when cruise ships are in port. All arrangements must be coordinated with the dive shop.
