Little Rock travelers, I’m going to let you in on one of the airports I think we forget about too often: XNA.
I know. It’s a drive.
And when you’re already planning a long travel day, driving several hours in the wrong direction before you ever get on an airplane can sound completely ridiculous. 😂
But don’t dismiss it without doing the math.
New one-stop options from Northwest Arkansas (XNA) are opening up to:
✈️ Barcelona via Charlotte
✈️ Porto via Philadelphia
✈️ Reykjavik via Philadelphia
✈️ Vienna via Philadelphia
And here’s the part I want Arkansas travelers to remember:
Compare the whole trip, not just the airfare.
If flying from XNA saves you $800, $1,200, or even more on an international itinerary, suddenly gas, parking and a hotel near the airport the night before departure may still leave you substantially ahead.
Would I drive to XNA to save $75? Nope.
Would I drive to XNA to save $1,000?
Hand me the car keys.
That doesn’t mean XNA will always be cheaper. It means it deserves a spot in the comparison, especially for international travel.
SAVE THIS for the next time you start shopping for flights. And send it to the Arkansas traveler who automatically types LIT into the airport box without checking anything else.
Sometimes the best airfare deal starts with a little road trip.
