You know how a familiar scent can bring back a memory? I believe that pictures can do the same thing.

I was eating lunch at Taziki’s in Little Rock yesterday when a picture on the wall reminded me of our trip to Greece last Christmas. I was curious where it was taken, so I did a quick Google search. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think it’s the Temple of Apollo in Corinth. The second picture is one I took of the Acropolis in Athens.

Joel and I have a box at home that says, “Travel is the only thing we buy that makes us richer.” Throughout the year, we fill it with little souvenirs from our trips. Napkins, flower petals, w**e corks, and other things that probably wouldn’t mean much to anyone else, but bring back wonderful memories for us.

I’ve always thought that when we spend money on travel, what we’re really buying is memories. A trip may only last a week or two, but we get to enjoy those memories for the rest of our lives. Sometimes we pull them out of a box, and sometimes they find us when we aren’t even looking.

Yesterday, all it took was a picture on a restaurant wall to take me back to Greece.

That’s a pretty good return on an investment, if you ask me.

✈️ Sometimes the best part of an airport is the part you almost skip.

Instead of hopping on the Plane Train between Concourses A and B at ATL, take the walk through Flight Paths, an immersive art installation by Steve Waldeck. The lights dim, the colors shift, and suddenly you’re surrounded by the sounds of birds, rain, frogs, and the Georgia outdoors.

It’s peaceful, unexpected, and one of my favorite little reminders that travel is about more than getting from Point A to Point B.

Next time you’re connecting through Atlanta, give yourself a few extra minutes and walk this one.

Turquoise is trending this fall. 🎃 🌴

Alaska has been showing up in my inbox a lot lately, but this one made me stop.

Celebrity Edge. Seven nights in Alaska. Dawes Glacier. July 2027. Fares currently starting at $1,232.32 per person, including taxes, fees and port expenses.

This one caught my attention. 👀

A short cruise like this can be a great way to try Royal Caribbean without committing to a full week, especially if you’ve been curious about Perfect Day at CocoCay.
