This is real life…
Client: "I want an all-inclusive resort for 4 people for 2 weeks with flights included. My max budget is $1,500."
Me: 😳 "That's about what one person would spend for two weeks at a budget-friendly resort."
Or this one...
Client: "I want somewhere tropical with crystal-clear water, an oceanfront room, butler service, top-shelf liquor, a king bed, and we can ONLY travel these exact dates. We have to leave after 3:00 PM and be back before noon. Our budget is $5,000."
Me (thinking): 🤯 "That's the definition of a custom vacation."
So I explain my planning fee for creating a personalized itinerary that checks every box.....and suddenly I'm left on read. 👻
Here's the thing...
Creating the perfect vacation isn't just typing a destination into Google.
It's hours of researching resorts, comparing suppliers, checking flights, reviewing room categories, finding the best value, and making sure every detail fits your needs and budget.
You're not paying for a few clicks on a computer.
You're paying for my experience, industry knowledge, supplier relationships, problem-solving skills, and the time I invest to create a vacation that's tailored specifically for you.
I know the value I bring, and I'm proud of it. ❤️
If you're looking for someone who will invest their time and expertise into planning a vacation you'll truly love, I'm your girl. ✈️🌴
But if you're looking for free trip planning with no intention of booking, I'm probably not the right travel advisor for you.
Quality service has value—and so does my time. 💙

𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐬.
I recently saw a news segment suggesting travelers should use a travel advisor for free advice… and then book everything themselves.
That is not a “travel hack.”
That is a misunderstanding of how this industry works.
Most travel advisors work on commission only, and that commission is already built into the price whether you book direct or through an advisor. If you use our time, knowledge, and research and then book on your own, we make ZERO dollars — and you usually save nothing either.
Another misconception? That we’re always “vacationing.” When we travel, we’re working. We’re touring resorts, meeting suppliers, checking details, and learning firsthand so we can properly guide our clients.
Travel advisors are not Google.
We are business owners, planners, problem-solvers, and advocates for our clients from start to finish.
So please respect our time and expertise. If you value a travel advisor enough to ask for their help, value them enough to book with them too.
Supporting a small business costs you nothing extra, but it means everything to us.
