This was already one of my favorite fall events. Now Wicked is joining the party. 💚🪄

Queen City Mischief & Magic returns to downtown Staunton, VA September 26–27, and for 2026 they’re adding Wicked/Wizard of Oz-inspired magic to a weekend that already gives major Wizarding World vibes 🪄

I’ve been before and absolutely loved it. Downtown Staunton goes all in with costumes, themed activities, decorated businesses, vendors, food, and thousands of fellow fandom people wandering around town for two days.

So yes, I’m thinking Luna Lovegood needs to make an appearance this year. 🪄💙🩷

And one of the best parts?
🎟️ The festival itself is FREE. No ticket needed.

I pulled out the Campbell County Schools 2026–2027 breaks, long weekends, and end-of-year dates that actually give you something to work with when you’re trying to figure out when a trip could happen.

Because “we should go somewhere this year” gets a whole lot easier once you know which dates are already working in your favor.

Turns out the scariest things at HHN aren’t always inside the houses 🫪

Express selling out.
Not knowing about Scream Early.
Realizing that “cheaper” off-site hotel comes with a rideshare bill every night when on property could have actually saved you.
Finding out after you booked that there was a better way to plan it. 🫠

HHN has a lot more strategy involved than just buying a ticket and showing up, especially if you want to make the most of your night(s).

And THAT’S the kind of stuff I love helping my clients figure out before they get there so that they go in prepared with a game plan 🎃

🧇 Disney people… this is your sign to leave the resort pool for breakfast 👀

The Churro Mickey Waffles officially made their way to Spyglass Grill at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and this feels like one of those “wait… WHAT?!” Disney food moments.

For the longest time these waffles were one of those harder-to-get (aka needed to plan ahead) Disney breakfasts. You either needed a Crystal Palace reservation or had to be sailing on Disney Cruise Line to try them.

Now you can grab them at a resort quick service for $11.49 without stepping foot in a park or on a ship 🎉

And yes… they’re as good as everybody says.

Warm Mickey waffles coated in cinnamon sugar with that little crunchy crackle on the outside while somehow still staying soft inside? Basically a churro disguised as breakfast and I fully support that chaos 😂

Disney can also throw bacon and sausage on the platter too so you can pretend this is a balanced breakfast decision 🤤😉

Adding this to my “worth leaving your room early and taking a ride on the skyliner for” Disney food list immediately ✔️
