Indagare on the Ground: Indagare’s Claire Gelalich recently scouted Somerset, the English Countryside’s best kept secret. Long overshadowed by pastoral counterparts like the Cotswolds and Hampshire, Claire reports that Somerset is having a moment with Michelin-starred dining, a growing creative scene and the debut of Yarlington Lodge—a private house at Indagare favorite hotel The Newt, opening June 1.

Discover the mystical rhythm of Somerset—and Indagare editor Claire Gelalich's favorite shops, restaurants and hotels in the region.

POV: Tokyo last week. 🌸

In Japan, sakura holds deep symbolism as a metaphor for life’s ephemeral nature. There, hanami—the act of viewing the blossoms—is an annual rite of spring.

The Indagare Guide: Utah’s National Parks 🏜️

With the 100th anniversary of Route 66 this November, it’s officially the year of the American road trip. But one of our favorite routes lies a little farther north: a spectacular drive through Utah’s national parks, with a detour to the Grand Canyon. At the link in bio, Indagare editor Abby Sandman maps out the ideal itinerary—what route to take, the don’t-miss stops and where to stay (including a new glamping property and a hidden pie shack). All you have to do is start working on the perfect playlist.

Moving postcards from .england 🌿

“Time slows down at Thyme. It’s a hotel that’s so much more than a hotel, a “village within a village,” full of charm, history and family lore,” says Indagare’s Claire Gelalich who recently checked in at this serene Cotswolds escape. “Thyme is hand-painted wallpaper, smells of water mint, a farm-to-table meal at the Ox Barn, a Guinness at the Swan [the pub onsite]. On my morning walk as I listened to a symphony of birds at sunrise, I strangely found myself overcome by the same sensation as an early morning safari. Peace and presence, time slowing down, a reconnection with nature and gratitude. I fell in love with the English countryside and hope to return for years to come.”

“With pastel-painted wooden cottages, chickens roaming freely and a pink-sand beach, Harbour Island feels like Swiss Family Robinson by way of Architectural Digest,” writes editor Trey Ross. “And while this chic Bahamian enclave is close enough to the U.S. for a long weekend, it’s also just hard enough to reach that it feels truly disconnected.”

At the link below, discover how to spend a long weekend in Harbour Island—including where to feast on addicting conch fritters, the boutiques to shop for glamorous objets d’art and a newly renovated property perfect for a girls’ getaway.
