Couple of great trips with my group of repeat clients that have been going out with me for several years now. We worked around weather both days and caught snappers, jacks, sharks, lobsters, crabs, we snorkeled the reef, collected shells and a handful of sand dollars to bring home for souvenirs. We literally did it all.

Had a good catch today with some new French clients. They earned a box full of fish and got a fabulous show of offshore fishing, offshore weather, these things whatever they are, fighter jets, sea turtles and a workout a little beyond what they were expecting. We worked very hard and progressed into good anglers. We came in early and their catch will be distributed through my community. I’m proud of their effort. On my trips you are my deck crew and we win or lose together as a team.

Wrapping up a “bigger fish” trip today. We did pretty good. This was what it looked like as we dumped and departed. Just wanted to remind everyone that I am booked for lobster mini season, but I have early August dates available. Certainly there are some unique very relevant to success characteristics in play this year when it comes to lobster catching. I have trended away from mini season trips in previous seasons for guest safety issues based on my evaluations. I’m proud that I have always and still absorb the high cost of making sure my guests are insured for all of the activities I offer. Most “ charter” insurance protects you in a vessel and it is a standard insurance policy with limitations to being inside the vessel. Not at the dock, not in the water, not lobstering, snorkeling or at the sand bar. I carry insurance that is way more expensive and requires way more operator protocol to prevent a good day from being a huge mistake. When you are thinking you are saving money, I”ll bet you your risk to do so is far more than you think. My trips would be cheaper if I cut corners. Cutting corners makes more money. I wish everyone a safe and productive mini season. I do not refer lobster charters because I’m not aware of anybody that offers the specific insurance to cover you in the water similar to what a dive/snorkel operator carries. I have that. That is why you have to sign a liability release waiver to agree to the terms of my insurance coverage. It is not easy insurance to get. If you don’t sign anything, guess what? That policy does not cover you. You either have or have not. Do you drive without car insurance? Some great lobster catching spots are right where this video came from. A boat will be more likely to run you over 1000X before this would be a concern for lobstering. Just using my shark friends to catch your awareness. There are some scary charter industry secrets far more dangerous than getting bit by a shark. TRUTH. People will run you over to save themselves 2 minutes to respect a dive flag and actually go around you for your safety in pursuit of their lobster fantasy. That is the reality of mini seas

Been some challenges fishing the shallower side of some of our fisheries, but finding some good quality fish in the deep.

surprise caught today in an unlikely spot. Part of the fun of deep dropping is you never know what is lurking waaaay down there. Such a pretty fish to be kept in eternal darkness. Makes no sense to me.🤷
