Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System - YARTS YARTS provides regularly scheduled public transit service into Yosemite National Park and the gateway

Since its start in May 2000, the Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System(YARTS) has been providing visitors to the Yosemite region with a comfortable, economical, and convenient alternative to driving. YARTS provides regularly scheduled public transit service into Yosemite National Park and the gateway communities along its routes in buses that are air-conditioned and equipped for rider comfo

rt. We like to say, "You Could Drive, But Why?", but it is so much more than just that. Get out from behind the wheel and you will see Yosemite in a whole new way. YARTS operates year round on Highway 140 through Mariposa with multiple runs each day. There is also daily service from Mammoth Lakes and Mono County during the summer (typically June through September), when Tioga Pass Road is open. The YARTS schedule makes connections with all intercity transportation providers in Merced: Amtrak, Greyhound, and Great Lakes Airlines at the Merced Airport. In Mono County, YARTS allows connections with "The Crest" bus that runs between Reno, NV and Lancaster, CA on Highway 395.

🥳🚌 This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of YARTS service! As part of this special milestone, YARTS will be highlighting an important moment in it's 25-year history AND giving away two round-trip tickets to a lucky passenger every month!

This month, we are honoring the contributions of our YARTS Authority Advisory Committee. The AAC was formed in 2002 and exists to advise the YARTS Governing Board on issues regarding to YARTS policy matters and projects. All AAC members are unpaid volunteers who are appointed by the Governing Board and represent a cross section of partners across the YARTS service area. AAC members often have backgrounds in transportation planning, economic development, tourism-related business, or other such groups or organizations that may be helpful in contributing to YARTS' operations. Thank you to all our past and present AAC members for their service to YARTS!

Update on Route 140

: A long-term FULL CLOSURE remains in place on SR-140 from Briceburg to the Yosemite Cedar Lodge due to a landslide that occurred on 3/17/25. While there is no current ETO, geotechnical experts are carefully assessing the site to determine the safest course for cleanup and ensure stability for crews to move as carefully and expeditiously as possible and open this roadway. Motorists should avoid this route and seek alternative highways to and from Yosemite National Park.
