Weather was as good as we could ask for! It was a little bumpy on the way out but the whole ride in was smooth because we rode a following sea all the way home!

This was one of those last minute things which always kind of stress me out... but, I thrive in these type of situations! We were supposed to leave this morning and ended up leaving last night to catch a bit of the full moon snapper bite and it worked out as good as any of my other full moon trips! Aaron and Doug flew in and instead of spending the night in their hotel room we decided last minute that they would be spending the night on the boat instead! We gathered the rest of the crew that was going to come with us and left the dock around 7 something last night, due to unfortunate circumstances on the beach everyone was a little bit late. But, that was okay because certain things are out of our control. We started off at the fun trip mango spot which sucked but it had gave me time to grill up some burgers and hotdogs for the boys atleast... so I decided to go a bit further offshore to something I had scouted a month or so ago and absolutely SMOKED the snappers! We tore up the mangrove and yellowtail snapper and had a few red snapper mixed in that we were able to keep because they opened up at 12am and we also had caught quite a few lanes. These fish were chewing their faces off, it didn't matter whether we were throwing bait or jigs because everything was getting eaten! Overall it was another Fu($:&g EPIC overnight trip for the Anglers and I also had an awesome time with the team!
Also, before the trip started I gave Aaron something that I was so excited to give him! If you know Aaron and I's relationship you know that man means a great deal to me, had he not came into my life I'd probably be back doing construction and never have truly made my dreams come true regardless of how hard I tried before I met him... I always tell him there's no way I'll ever be able to repay him for what he's done for me. BUT... if you know Aaron next to family/friends and maybe me Dave Matthew's is one of his favorite people. I was lucky enough to find a autographed poster!

Weather was super nice today! There was a little wind and a little bit of a swell but overall it was perfect.

Today we had a family from Minnesota and they were honestly one of my favorite new groups I've had in a little bit! The parents were a little older than me and the kids were all so good and respectful and we all had a great time! The game plan was to go out and catch a decent variety of fish and enough for lunch and we checked both those boxes on this one. We fished around 15 miles and only made two stops. The first was a dud which tbh I kind of like when that happens because when we hit the second one it was non stop action and they aren't really expecting it. We caught a ton of grunts, a nice porgy, a bunch of trigger fish, some red groupers, a few puffers which are always the kids favorites and then went to try and catch a cuda... as soon as we put lines in we had one on that got off and the last 20 mins were spent trying to get a bite that never came but it's okay because we already had an awesome time bottom fishing! Overall it was another great day for the Anglers!

Weather was absolutely beautiful for the first time in a while! Waves were about a foot and a half swell and it was breezy enough that we weren't cooking!

Today I had the Potts family which is genuinely one of my favorite families I get to take fishing year after year! Jordan always plans these trips ahead and I always look forward to them. Three and a half years ago I met this family walking the dock after their charter canceled on them the night before and they have been like family to me ever since. Not only have Jordan missy and I created an awesome bond but their kids have become a staple in my life since then! Today we took Jp out fishing and I asked him " what do you want to catch " and he responded " atleast one fish " which is honestly my favorite thing, this kid doesn't care what or how much he catches he just loves to have a good time with us no matter what we do! We went out and caught a ton of red and gag groupers, a bunch of grunts and some nice mangrove snapper and then we all went up to saltcracker and had an awesome dinner together! Overall it was another great day for the Anglers and also one of those days that remind me why exactly I started doing this in the first place!

Today I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of our veterans that have served this country. We at BigAngler have a huge appreciation for those of you that have fought and are still fighting for our freedoms and also those who have lost their lives doing that exact thing! Yall are the real heroes and I'm very grateful to know quite a few of you!

Weather today was fricken perfect! It was around a foot at times a little bigger but it was nice and breezy so we weren't cooking out there!

What a day today was! I had so much fun with both groups!
This morning we took a group consisting of a son, father and father in law from up north and they had never fished out here. Their goal was to catch some fish and have some fun and we did exactly that! We fished around 15 miles and caught a ton of red/gag groupers, a lot of grunts, porgies, a couple short hog fish and 1 nice keeper! These guys didn't want all their fish so doob and I had some fish for lunch and then prepared for the afternoon trip.
This afternoon we had a dad and all of his sons in their 20s from Canada and this group was also a really fun group to have on the boat! They also just wanted to have a great time and catch fish and it was also their first time on the water here which made for an awesome day for me because that allows us to do what we do best with no expectations! We also fished around 15 miles on this trip and caught a ton of fish. It was almost identical to the first trip if I'm being honest just in a completely different area. We caught some nice red/gag groupers, a few short hog fish and 1 nice keeper, some grunts and porgies and then being that these boys were from Canada they had never shot guns... if you know you know but that was my q to show these boys another cool thing about America so I let them shoot a couple rounds out of the G***k and then we headed home to get their fish cleaned and cooked up! Overall it was another awesome day for the Anglers and a great day for Doob and I!

Weather was absolutely S$;t... I was expecting at most around 2 ft and it was well past that around 3-3.5 at times. And it was one of those days you felt like you got stuck in a washing machine.

Today I had one of my repeats Greg and the gang! These guys have fished with me in the past and we have a great time with them. I kept flip flopping days between today and Sunday because I couldn't tell which one was going to be better for a long trip and I ended up taking them today because the forecast looked pretty nice. Needless to say we all got our asses whooped... BUT, we absolutely smoked the fish in about 30-45 mins worth of fishing, my boy Layne sent me an area a couple weeks ago and told me to go find em and we did exactly that! On one stop we caught every fish in the pictures including some. We had our limit by 1030 am and then caught a couple of mangos and then I asked if they were okay with just going home because I wasn't trying to get my anchor stuck on one of the wrecks and everyone was happy to say yes so this 8 hour only lasted 6hrs and we did better than I have in a little while! Other than the weather everything worked out as good as it could've! Overall it was another great day for the Anglers and we got to have Brady buddy on the boat which always makes my day better!

Weather was not nice at all. Waves were 2-3 ft and it was blowing!

Today we had a group of hooligans from Ohio! These young men were union workers which is always cool to see young dudes in the trades! Their goal was to catch cudas and we did exactly that. I can't say I've ever lost this many fish with any of my groups including a 50+ lb cobia that broke my heart but they were so funny that it made up for it! Overall it was another great day for the Anglers!

Weather was really nice today! Little bit of wind, little bit of chop.

Today we had a group from Alaska! A dad who was an Alaskan state trooper which was a first for us, an expecting mother and two year old ellie! Knowing I had a 2 year old and a little one in the oven on the boat I opted to stay in state waters, we started off at 7 miles and worked our way out to around 9 miles. We caught a ton of short groupers, too many puffer fish, a bunch of grunts and then decided to go trolling where we ended up with 4 Spanish mackerels! Overall it was another great day for the Anglers!

Happy belated Mothers Day to all the amazing moms out there, yall are the true mvps and without yall none of us would be in the positions we're in! Here at BigAngler we take plenty of family's fishing so 8/10 trips I'd say we have moms on the boat. We genuinely hope each and everyone of yall had a great day!

🚨🚨 fishing report 5/10/16 🚨🚨

Weather was really nice! It was a little bit bumpy but it was okay because it's starting to get super hot out so having a little wind played in our favor.

Today we had a group from up north that have never fished out here and didn't care at all what we did as long as we caught some fish and had a good time! Our buddy Alex that spearfishes pulled up on us in the am and we traded him a spot for a spot and went and got a couple nice mangrove snapper and a few small red groupers and a slippery dick(wrase) which I don't see very often up here and then the bite died after we broke a few fish off so I decided to explore and find a new spot and it ended up being a pretty good one! We caught a lot more fish on it granted they were grunts and porgies but still a lot of action which this group was excited for! After we got back they told us to keep the fish so Dube and I took em up to and had them cooked up! Overall it was another great day for the Anglers!!
Afterwards our group from yesterday got us a bunch of vip passes so we were able to go front stage to see and which was fricken awesome with our boy tj ! This career may be a lot of work but it also has a lot of perks!!!
