A memorable lunch at La Dame aboard Silversea turned into an unforgettable culinary experience with a Dom Pérignon tasting. While there is an additional charge, it was absolutely worth it. The sommelier shared the fascinating history of Champagne and Dom Pérignon, while the Executive Chef walked us through each course and the inspiration behind the menu. Every sip and every bite was thoughtfully curated for a truly elevated dining experience.

It's America’s 250th Birthday! Celebrate Independence Day weekend in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. is hosting related museum exhibitions and celebrations all year long, including the Salute to America on July 4, which will feature major speeches, flyovers, headline performances and fireworks. A few days in Taipei filled with quiet discovery, cultural moments, and unexpected beauty 🇹🇼✨

From the peaceful grounds of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park to meaningful reflections at the 228 Memorial, and a gentle surprise of cherry blossoms in bloom—Taipei offered both history and softness in equal measure. We were lucky to witness the changing of the guards at Martyr’s Shrine, enjoy elegant afternoon tea at the Mandarin Oriental, and take in the city’s layered atmosphere with friends Toni and Yvonne.

It's America’s 250th Birthday — Here Are a Few Ways to Celebrate Across the Country

According to data from HotelPlanner, hotel bookings for Independence Day weekend have surged up to 108% compared to the same time in 2025.

Specific cities seeing increased bookings include Philadelphia (which leads the pack with an 81% increase in bookings year over year); Williamsburg, Virginia (up 62%); and Washington, D.C. (up 8%).

Here is one-way travelers might get in on the celebratory fun — it’s not an exhaustive list, but it’s certainly an inspiring one.

This summer, Nashville is set to host the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th event, a free, two-day celebration featuring global headliners alongside the Nashville Symphony and a large firework show.
