Celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and one remarkable model train! đźš‚

David Peters, who attends the Minneapolis Veterans Home Adult Day Program (Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs), was recognized through LeadingAge Minnesota’s Change Makers Photo Contest for a photograph featuring him with his hand-carved wooden train.

During our visit, David shared more about the skill and patience behind his work, including the unique challenges of carving with different types of wood. He told us that ebony is the hardest wood he has worked with and requires extra care because its dust can be toxic when inhaled.

Congratulations, David! It was wonderful to present you with a framed copy of your award winning work and learn more about the talent behind your creation.

Across Minnesota, LeadingAge Minnesota members are helping shift the focus from sick care to whole person wellness. Through fitness, nutrition, social connection, spiritual care and personalized support, they are helping older adults remain strong, confident and engaged in the lives they want to lead.

Presbyterian Homes & Services offers one example of this approach in action, supporting wellness across body, mind and spirit.

This year’s Healthy Aging Month theme reminds us that curiosity has no age limit. Whether it is trying a new activity, learning a skill or building a new connection, there is always more to explore.

On August 4, golfers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters gathered at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury for the 2026 LeadingAge Minnesota Foundation Golf Tournament. Together, through sponsorships, on course games and ticket sales, the event raised nearly $108,000 before expenses for the next round of caregiver scholarships.

These funds support a statewide scholarship program available to LeadingAge Minnesota members and their employees, helping those who serve older adults advance their skills and continue growing in their careers.

Congratulations to our first place team:

🏆 Grange Farr
🏆 Brian Holbrook
🏆 Andy Marden
🏆 Vinny Signore

Thank you to every golfer, sponsor, volunteer and supporter who made this beautiful day possible. Your generosity helps build tomorrow’s workforce, develop future leaders and strengthen aging services across Minnesota.

Innovation in action at Three Links Health Services!

Yesterday, Ben Hansen, Jessica Lacher and Barbara Landeen joined Carol Raw, Mark Rentz, and the team at St Francis Health Services of Morris for a VIP preview of the new Immersion Suite at Three Links Health Services in Northfield.

The team experienced how Besser Rooms can transform a space into immersive environments designed to inspire, educate, relax and create meaningful connections. They also met the Girard's Business Solutions, Inc. robot technology helping Three Links explore new ways to enhance experiences for the people they serve.

Congratulations to Three Links Health Services on this exciting addition, made possible through the generous support of the Three Links Foundation. Thank you for inviting our team to experience what is possible!
