Whale watching in the Southern Ocean is anything but predictable, and that’s what makes it exciting. Antarctic waters attract humpback and minke whales, while orcas can sometimes be seen moving through the region in search of prey.

Along the coast of Chilean Patagonia, humpback whales can also be found in the protected waters of Francisco Coloane Marine Park.

Keep watch from the deck, grab your camera, and head out by Zodiac. You never know what might surface next.

Puma. Condors. Guanacos. Penguins. Ñandú. And that’s only the beginning.

In our latest podcast, Javier Lopez of EcoCamp Patagonia takes us through some of the remarkable wildlife found across Patagonia, from the unmistakable puma and enormous Andean condors to pairs of *caiquén*, curious armadillos, herds of guanacos, and the region’s native *ñandú*.

And, of course, there are penguins farther south, around the fjords and Tierra del Fuego.

Patagonia’s landscapes are home to an incredible variety of wildlife, making time spent exploring the region as much about what you might encounter along the way as where the trail leads.

Patagonia is waking up for spring.
October brings longer days, fresh color to the landscape, and more time to explore the trails beneath the Andes.

From the granite spires of Torres del Paine to the glaciers and rugged peaks around El Chaltén, Patagonia offers a spectacular setting for trekking. Hike through valleys, follow trails toward mountain viewpoints, or venture out by kayak and horseback to experience the region from another perspective.

Make this spring the season you discover Patagonia.

Thank you, Marian and Wayne, for sharing such a thoughtful review of your Alaska adventure with Adventure Life. ❤️

Their 2-day Glacier Bay Adventure Cruise brought together everything they were looking for: a small-boat experience, kayaking, hiking, close encounters with nature, and plenty of time to simply take in the scenery.

As Marian and Wayne put it, “We did the UnCruise 2 Day Glacier Bay Adventure Cruise which provided everything we wanted: small boat, activities (kayaking, hiking, ability to get close to nature. The UnCruise guides were terrific, knowledgeable and helpful. Safety was paramount. Expeditions were varied and long enough to be fun, short enough to be relaxing. Evening presentations were pertinent to what we saw or would be seeing. One evening included stories on the upper deck at sunset....wonderful. Food was excellent; the desserts were exceptional. The captain could be seen assisting kayakers into their kayaks, checking the skiffs, working with his crew. Scenery was unforgettable - from calving glaciers, sunrise on glaciers, whales alongside the vessel. This was an absolutely perfect trip.”

We look forward to helping with the next big adventure!

October is a busy time in Antarctica’s penguin colonies. Spring is in full swing, and many penguins are returning to breeding grounds, pairing up, building nests, and preparing for the arrival of eggs.

From Adélies, Gentoos, and chinstraps along the Antarctic Peninsula to king penguins on South Georgia and rockhoppers in the Falkland Islands, each region offers a different glimpse into penguin life.

For Clara Tort, travel is about more than seeing a new place. It’s about gaining a different perspective, understanding other cultures, and creating experiences that feel authentic.

As an Adventure Life Trip Planner, Clara enjoys taking on the more complex itineraries and finding the details that make a journey come together seamlessly.
“I love to travel because it opens my perspective about things, and it gives you a better overview of different cultures.”

For Clara, the goal is simple: take the stress out of planning so travelers can focus on being present once they arrive.

“I want them to be without any stress, that they just show up at the destination just to enjoy themselves and hopefully get a real, authentic experience.”

That’s what thoughtful trip planning looks like: understanding what travelers need, navigating the details, and making space for them to simply enjoy the journey.

Antarctica is calling.

A new expedition season brings the chance to experience the White Continent beyond the view from the ship.

Paddle through icy waters surrounded by towering icebergs, hike across snow-covered landscapes, camp on the ice beneath the Antarctic sky, or ski across the polar terrain. Explore the coastline by Zodiac, or take to the water on a stand-up paddleboard for a closer look at this extraordinary landscape.

There’s no single way to experience Antarctica.

Answer the call and discover the adventure that’s right for you with Adventure Life.

It’s called a 'rainforest' for a reason. 🌧️🌿

Our trip planner Erin and her family got the full experience while exploring Pacuare Nature Reserve in Costa Rica, rain falling, trails getting wet, and plenty of reasons to keep exploring.

Because that’s the fun of being in nature: you don’t always know what you’re going to encounter, or what the weather will bring. Sometimes, you just get to put on your rain gear, enjoy the moment and keep going.

Want to experience Costa Rica with your family?
Let us customize a journey around the adventures your family will enjoy.

What if simply walking could change the way you experience a place?

After hours of moving at that steady pace, something shifts. The mind quiets, distractions fall away, and walking becomes less about reaching a destination and more about being fully present.

For Javier, this connection to slow, silent walking offers a return to one of humanity’s oldest forms of meditation.
