🌄 Our Favorite Moab Trail: Funnel Arch (aka Cable Arch) 🌄
There are so many incredible hikes in the Moab area, but if you ask us here at Angel Rock Rentals, our favorite hidden gem is hands down Funnel Arch — also known locally as Cable Arch.
Located just off Kane Creek Road, about 15 minutes from Angel Rock, this short but adventurous hike takes you up slickrock and through a bit of a fun scramble to reach one of the most dramatic, under-the-radar arches in the area.
🧭 Why We Love It:
✅ Super close to town — but feels way off the grid
✅ No crowds — often you’ll have the trail all to yourself
✅ A short ~0.8-mile round-trip hike with a great payoff
✅ The arch is massive and tucked beautifully into a red rock wall
✅ Great sunrise/sunset views and photo ops
It’s got just the right mix of effort and reward. You’ll work a little (especially near the end with a bit of a climb), but once you reach the arch, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered something special.
📖 Want to go?
We’ve got you covered! You’ll find detailed directions to Funnel Arch in the Welcome Books located in each of our rental units, along with tons of other trail recommendations — from mellow family strolls to off-the-beaten-path adventures.
Whether you’re a first-time Moab visitor or a returning red rock explorer, our Welcome Books are packed with local insights to help you make the most of your stay.
💡 Local Tip: Bring good shoes, water, and a sense of adventure. The final scramble isn’t recommended for pets or small children, but it’s a rewarding trek for confident hikers.
