The outer gas shell of a dying star. Our view recently of the Dumbbell Nebula 🔭

Any life forms looking at our own sun system in around 5 billion years will see a similar view. This is the fate of main sequence, middle-massed stars like our sun.

Traveling nearly 200,000 miles per SECOND, light emitted from the nebula takes over 1,000 years to reach Earth. It is located in the direction of the Vulpecula constellation in the middle of the Summer Triangle. Up all summer in our Unistellar !

The Hercules Globular Cluster ✨

We are over the moon to have this one back up in the evening sky and our Unistellar

Over 300,000 stars, 25,000 light years away and 150 light years across. In 1974, humans sent a message to this cluster from the Arecibo radio telescope. In about 25,000 years, it will arrive carrying information on human anatomy and Earth’s location.
