As many of you know, my mama passed away, and her funeral was yesterday. I have had so many thoughts and emotions about her life and about how I will honor her for the rest of mine.

She was the strongest and most dependable woman I have ever known. She loved her family fiercely and unapologetically. In her 80 years on this earth, some of the things she loved most were her family — especially her granddaughter Morgan.

Mama loved a good game show and an old western. She loved getting her hair done, getting pedicures, and making sure her van stayed spotless at all times. Some of her favorite places were the beach, Gatlinburg, and of course Disney World.

Most importantly, Mama loved the Lord and loved her church family at Solid Rock Church.

I have spent the last couple of months watching strength, faith, love, and heartbreak all at the same time. Paul’s mother passed away just 42 days before my mama, and honestly, this year has been incredibly hard. At times, we have sat and wondered what any of this means.

What I do know is that both of these women loved their families deeply and loved the Lord with all their hearts. They showed up for the people they loved every single day.

As I move forward, I hope I live my life a little more like these two amazing women — loving fiercely, showing up for my family, living without apology, and living without regrets.

Thank you to all of our family and friends who have held me, Paul, and Morgan up through these past few months. We have felt every prayer, every text, every hug, and every act of kindness, and we will never forget it. ❤️
