BIG NEWS – SEASON EXTENSION! 🍁

Looking ahead at the weather, we are excited to announce that we are extending our season past October 18th on select days where the weather is looking favorable!

Instead of wrapping up completely this weekend, we will be adding 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM cruises on days when the weather lines up for great cruising conditions.

Cruising past the iconic stone arch of Lovers Leap aboard the Pictured Rocks Express, the fall foliage along the shoreline is at its peak right now! Vibrant autumn leaves line the top of the sandstone cliffs, creating a breathtaking contrast against Lake Superior's crystal-clear turquoise waters. Seeing these towering cliff formations and famous arches from the water framed by glowing fall colors is an unforgettable Upper Peninsula experience.

There is still time to catch these views! Because these bonus autumn trips depend entirely on favorable weather, operating days will be selected on a rolling basis.

🚨 WEATHER CANCELLATION UPDATE – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16 🚨

Due to severe, Gail force winds and 20 foot wave conditions making travel along the lakeshore unsafe, all cruises for FRIDAY (OCTOBER 16) have been CANCELED. Lake Superior continues to experience heavy autumn weather, and our top priority is always the safety of our passengers and crew.

OPTIONS FOR TICKET HOLDERS:
If you hold tickets for Friday's canceled cruises, you have full flexibility:

Exchange to Another Date: You can exchange your tickets to another date this season. With conditions improving as we look toward Saturday, many passengers are rescheduling for Saturday!

Full Refunds: If you are unable to reschedule for another day this season, you are eligible for a full refund.

IMPORTANT TICKETING POLICY:
For all Friday morning and afternoon cruise ticket holders, if we do not hear from you by your scheduled departure time on Friday, we will automatically issue a full refund.

If you hold tickets for the sunset cruise on Friday and we do not hear from you by 3:30 PM Friday, we will automatically issue a full refund.

🚨 SCHEDULE CHANGE & WEATHER UPDATE – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13 🚨

Due to forecasted rough water conditions on Lake Superior today, we are adjusting our schedule to prioritize safety and passenger comfort.

REVISED SCHEDULE FOR TODAY:
We have canceled our 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:30 PM departures. Instead, we are condensing our operations onto our largest vessel, which handles heavy lake conditions the best. We hope that delaying our first departure until 11:00 AM gives Lake Superior a bit more time to settle.

Today’s Adjusted Departure Times:

5:15 PM (Sunset Cruise)

OPTIONS FOR ALL TICKET HOLDERS TODAY:
Whether you hold tickets for one of today's canceled departures (10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:30 PM) or you already have tickets for our 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, or 5:15 PM Sunset cruise, you have full flexibility if you do not wish to sail in today's rough conditions:

Exchange to Today or Another Date: Passengers from canceled times may exchange to any available departure time today (11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:15 PM). All ticket holders today also have the option to exchange tickets to another date this season (such as Thursday, which is currently looking much calmer!).

Full Refunds: If you cannot make today's available times, or simply prefer not to take a rough water trip, you are eligible for a full refund.

SICKNESS WARNING: If you or anyone in your party is susceptible to motion sickness or seasickness, this is NOT the trip for you today. We strongly recommend moving your tickets to Thursday, which is currently looking like our calmest and best day to cruise this week!

Trip Refund Policy: Because conditions along the cliffs remain heavy, we cannot guarantee a full trip route today. If weather turns us back early, our policy is:

Turn back before Miners Castle (First Point of Interest): Full refund OR ticket exchange for another date this season.

Make it past Miners Castle but do not complete the full trip: 50% refund OR ticket exchange for another date this season.

🚨 WEATHER CANCELLATION & THIS WEEK'S OUTLOOK – MONDAY, OCTOBER 12 🚨
We were holding out hope that the wind and wave action on Lake Superior would stay calm until later this afternoon, but heavy lake conditions have picked up earlier than anticipated. All remaining cruises today have been canceled. Conditions along the Pictured Rocks shoreline have become too rough for safe passenger travel.

LOOKING AHEAD THIS WEEK:
With strong north winds in the forecast throughout the week, Lake Superior conditions will be changing daily:

Tuesday, October 13: We expect to run as scheduled, but please note that conditions may still be rough. If you or anyone in your party is susceptible to motion or seasickness, tomorrow’s cruise may not be an enjoyable experience.

Wednesday, October 14: Forecasted to be even rougher than Tuesday, making operations uncertain.

Thursday, October 15: Thursday is currently looking like our best and calmest window of the week for a smooth cruise along the cliffs!

Friday, October 16: Heavy autumn weather returns in force. Forecasts are calling for 60 mph north winds and waves up to 20 feet, meaning we will likely not be able to operate on Friday.

Because weather on Lake Superior shifts quickly, we will be making official operational calls on a morning-by-morning basis for most days this week. Please continue to check our page and website (https://picturedrocks.com/) each morning before heading to the dock.
