Happy birthday, Hungary!
If you're with us in Budapest today on Aug.20th, tonight's the moment — 21:00–21:30, light and drone show over Parliament, closing with a ~10-minute fireworks finale, then two repeat drone showings after. Here's a little sneak peek:-)
Best views: the Danube embankments on both the Pest and Buda side, anywhere between Margaret Bridge and Liberty Bridge.
Tip: arrive early and expect crowds + road closures along the river — public transport is your friend tonight:-)

Budapest’s first real summer heatwave is here. Stay cooler, save money, and skip single-use plastic with one simple trick: refill your bottle at the city’s free drinking fountains.

Did you know there are 62 free drinking fountains across Budapest where you can refill your water bottle with safe drinking water?

You can find them directly in the BudapestGO app:

It’s one of those surprisingly useful city features that many visitors, and quite a few residents, don’t know exists.

If you’re spending the day exploring, heading to a festival, or simply trying to survive 35°C on a tram platform, it’s worth keeping a reusable bottle with you.

There’s also a wider map of public water points available through kozkutak.hu, which includes hundreds of additional public taps around Hungary.

Small tip. Big difference on a hot day.
