If you're in the tourism business, this article will definitely resonate. I can tell you firsthand that it does. In twelve years of operating Walkin' Nashville, this has been my leanest year ever. Business is way down. Over half of my clientele has traditionally come from Canada and the UK, and for understandable reasons, those good folks are now choosing other vacation destinations. On again-off again tariffs, travel bans, ugly "51st state" baiting, inflammatory rhetoric, harsh immigration policies with random quota-filling detainments, concentration camps - it's all meant massive losses in income for our country. Just one more example of how we are definitely not "winning."

Halfway through 2025, the U.S. stands out as the world’s biggest loser in an otherwise thriving global tourism economy.
