Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate more than just travel… we celebrate the people behind it. ✈️💙

Being a travel advisor is not just booking trips, it’s designing experiences, solving problems before they happen, and making sure every detail of your journey feels effortless.
It’s the late nights, the “just checking one more thing,” the advocacy when plans change, and the deep joy of seeing my clients create memories around the world.

✨ You don’t just deserve a vacation, you deserve one done right.

Tomorrow is Global Travel Advisor Day, and if you’ve ever traveled with me, THANK YOU for trusting me with your dreams. And if you haven’t yet… this is your sign.

Travel Tip: Plan for Some Alone Time

Even the best couples need a reset, especially on group trips.
After 53 years, I’ve learned: A solo coffee, spa hour, or quiet beach walk saves the vacation. Together 24/7 sounds romantic until day 3.
Why it matters for 40+: Space prevents burnout. You come back to dinner happier, not drained.

I build “alone time” into every itinerary I plan. Especially destination weddings + multi-gen trips.

Certified Colombia Travel Specialist Shares Medellín, Cartagena & Latin Dance Cruise Adventures + New Group Trips
At 53, people ask if I’m “slowing down.” Last month I was in Medellín at 9am touring coffee farms with my certification group, and by 9pm I was teaching cha-cha on NCL’s Latin dance floor with travelers 22 to 82.
Why this matters for active travelers 40+:
• Medellín is walkable — if you know where. Cable cars over the mountains, Comuna 13 art tours with flat routes, coffee farms with benches. I walked every path before I’ll book you.
• Cartagena Old City isn’t all cobblestone hell. I mapped which streets are flat, which hotels have real elevators, and where to find shade at noon.
• Latin dance cruises are multi-gen. Our group had 20-somethings learning from 80-somethings. NCL’s ballroom program = all levels, zero judgment.
This is why I get certified before I sell. “Free” booking sites can’t tell you which block will wreck your knees. I can.

Why use a Travel Advisor?
Because Google can’t spend 6 hours on hold with Royal Caribbean to hold a roll-in shower cabin on deck 8.
What my service fee actually covers — and why clients 50-75 pay it:
What the cruise line pays me: A commission only on the cruise fare. It’s paid 30 days before you sail, or after. If you cancel, I get $0.

What the cruise line DOESN’T pay me for:
• 3 hours researching which Anthem sailings have ramp tender boarding at Lelepa vs. step-down ladder
• Calling Vanuatu tour operators to confirm which “moderate” excursions are actually paved and flat
• Managing your flights, pre-hotel, transfers, and scooter rental — none of that is commissionable
• Pre-reserving your beach wheelchair at Lelepa — they run out, and I’m on it 90 days out
• Being on-call when United cancels your connection to Sydney at 11 PM
My fee: $250- $500 per booking, depending on the complexity. Flat rate, disclosed upfront, credited if you book.

Why clients pay it:
1. Access - I get accessible balconies on deck 8 mid-ship before they hit the website. You can’t book those directly after April 30.
2. Advocacy - When the scooter doesn’t fit through the cabin door, I’m on Guest Services while you’re at dinner. Try getting that from a 1-800 number.
3. Time - You didn’t retire to spend 12 hours on hold and reading deck plans. Your time is worth more than my fee.
“Free” travel agents can’t afford to do this work. They book the cruise and disappear.

My clients aren’t booking a cruise—they’re booking with confidence that they can actually take the trip.
